They all can play LB, rojo can play LCB aswell and blind won the dutch player of the year last season playing as a defensive midfielder so thats probably where van gaal will play him.

 

Pirlo didn't peak until that age, Alonso could be the same.

Alonso's passing range is out of this world. Having him and schweinsteiger behind gotze feeding him, robben, ribery in will be insane. Khedira and thiago to cover as well

 

Blind id say isnt worth £14million, I like him as a player but he's not good enough for top teams imo If Celtic were signing him he'd be a good player for us but even then you wouldnt be overjoyed or anything as he's a hardworking player, fairly smart in his play and decent on the ball. Id never imagine he'd sign for an actual good team, as a starting player anyway, he's the sort id have guessed would have went to the likes of a Newcastle or Southampton.

In midfield he plays more like Mulgrew, where he isnt a good defensive player at breaking up play or that kind of role but more a passer who keeps the ball moving and is not bad at it, he's not a top notch passer of the ball but a steady decent one who gets about the pitch shutting people down and putting in a shift but not really even as good as Ledley would do for us at that although better passer than Ledley.

In defence he's seen as a wee bit weak but again puts in a shift and is decent on the ball but more comfortable in midfield as as I mentioned he's not an out and out defender - he used to be a fans wipping boy 2/3 years ago as he got skinned all the time. Its a different kettle of fish playing midfield in the Eredivisie than England though.

I just couldnt see him playing at that level. For me he's like a mix of Ledley and Mulgrew, not quite as good at passing as Mulgrew but not quite as solid and mobile around midfield as Ledley.

I look forward to seeing him playing though and how he fits in and adapts and if he's a first team starter or squad player.

At QPR or Newcastle or the likes he might be getting £60/70k a week but he'll win heehaw. At Chelsea he might only see 1/3 of the playing time but he's probably being paid £90/100k a week and will get his hands on trophies.

Also be working with players like Terry, Fabregas, Hazard, Costa etc and not diddys.

 

Yeah, good points. Didn't think about the training side of things. I'd still rather play 90 minutes every week. Suppose at all 'top' clubs it's difficult to guarantee that. An injury to Costa and he's in there.

This is a massive myth. Pirlo has been given massive media attention in Britain in recent years only because of his performances against England in Euro 2012 and the World Cup. Pirlo was at his best at AC Milan. Sure he appears more cultured, composed etc nowadays but that comes with experience. He was a more complete player around 2004-2009.

 

If United sign Falcao, then who is in charge of their transfer policy? Some 14 year old with FM experience? They need reinforcements in defense and midfield, not another attacking player.

 

We've signed Nordin Amrabat on loan for another season with an option to buy him at the end of the season for around €3.5 million.

He was decent last season, so I'm happy.

 

Man utd are embarrassing now, just constantly buying attacking player after player. They can buy all the attackers they want but when they have the defence and midfield they have all of their problems will remain
