They are a stronger team and now that they have gotten over the line once it will be harder to beat them.

And the summer transfer window hasn't closed yet. :50:

Apart from Messi and Ronaldo, who would you say is more marketable?

Possibly but you don't really see him advertising products anymore, a few years yes he was the face of everything and anything.

I don't really care about the whole marketing thing though, I just wanted to hear the opinion of others on it

Beckham is one of the most marketable people in the world, he transcends football like Rooney NEVER will. I'd say only Michael Jordan has ever been more marketable in sporting terms than Beckham.

Neymar I'd say is more so than Rooney, and I think Charlie Mulgrew has a lot of potential closer to home. :50:

For a team full of superstars and ego's, the way they conducted themselves (apart from Tevez for 6 months) was fantastic. In my opinion, for a team to go out and win the league playing the football they did despite only being together for a relatively small time is a great achievment, you need only look to Real Madrid post-Jose to see a team of great players doesnt make a great team. As for transfers, asides from Messi or Ronaldo, is there anyone who could really improve the team? Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko isn't a bad quartet to choose from. Mancini has added Rodwell to the team and has admitted it will probably be younger British (English in all honesty) players he tries to aquire now i.e Butland and Nathon Redmond. Despite the signing of RVP i still consider Man City over-whelming favourites to win the league this season aswell. We are all under the assumption that Rooney and RVP will play well together, but both of them have ego's that need soothing every now and again...it could go belly up for Man Utd.

Hopefully van Persie scores 5 goals in total at United, preferably all 5 coming against Torquay or Colchester in meaningless cup game and after that hope he never scores again.

    Money grabbing *.

Surely no one thinks Rooney has more marketing ability than David Beckham? Surely.

David Beckham is a brand, Wayne Rooney is a footballer.

You honestly think that he's going to United for money? Yes I'm sure his wage will be higher but he is 29 and wants to win trophies, there is more chance of winning trophies at United, simple as that.

Stat for you. Since RVP joined Arsenal in 2004, they have won 2 honours (2005 FA Cup and 2004 Community Shield) in that same time period, United have won 13 trophies

    But yeah he's a money grabbing * :87:

Are you saying that because you hate United and don't want them to win anything or do you actually believe that United, who have added the top scorer and POTY from last year, won't challenge for the title?
