    There is another " Brit" on at the moment he was born in Slovenia and even played Davis cup for Slovenia and now he's playing for Britain. Britain has always been good at stealing players from other countries or tapping them up.

    The problem is not citizenship the problem is allowing someone who has played for another country to then play for Britain. It's also not fair on Slovenia. It's also a way for the failing tennis authorities to fast track foreign talent because they are failing to nurture young talent so they are all too happy to bring in talent from Europe or Australia or wherever.

    I don't think you can draw parallels between the two cases, they're not that similar. If the Slovenian bloke you're talking about is Bedene he moved to the UK as young *, Konta arrived as a child. Sure, she 'represented' Australia but that was her only option till she gained citizenship. Why should Australia benefit from a player whose development mainly took place in the UK? She didn't play Fed Cup for Australia, either, so she's never actually competed for the country. Whereas Bedene actually played for Slovenia in Davis Cup matches.
