why all the crap now coming Browns way? Are Celtic not a team that prides themselves on accepting everyone without prejudice? So all Brown has stated is that we accept anyone without prejudice!

Brown is not a joke. How anyone can say that is a fact is beyond me. If you dont like him then fine but you cant claim your own point of view is fact against every one elses.

The Sun have came out and said that we were interested. They have given a fair bit of info like TM saying no etc. I doubt that they would have came out with all this and then backed their story up after Celtic rubbished it if they were telling dirty lies. There hav ebeen loads of stories that have been printed and clubs come and say its crap. The papers then dont try and justify them. They just let them die as most times it is just speculation. There is something there imo.

I am glad Rosleabhoy is here to keep a sensible head on the argument.

I agree with this. If I was a Man United fan I wouldn't want a Liverpool player, if I was a Barca fan I wouldn't want at Real Madrid player, if I was a Spurs fan I wouldn't want an Arsenal player. Nothing to do with bigotry.

I take it you booed Kenny Miller every time he touched the ball when he played for us then.

Curiously enough when Figo went to RM from Barça he was overwhelmingly welcomed by the RM fans. Was assaulted by Barça fans.

Before that there was Bernd Schuster.

Luis Enrique went the opposite direction. There was no outcry at all about his previous club. These transfers were seen more as 'coups' by the receiving fans.

I think the undercurrents of the Glasgow rivalry have deeper undercurrents.

Don't agree with that at all. I'm sure plenty would accept each others players.
Luis Figo being a proven case.

I'm sure plenty of real fans would accept messi.
I'm sure plenty of barca fans would accept Ronaldo.
I'm sure plenty of man utd fans would accept torres.
and, I'm sure plenty of liverpool fans would accept Rooney.
Perhaps nothing to do with bigotry but it'd have plenty to do with pride and stupidity

Re; boyd though - there's no way he'd take 30k a week here if he was offered the same at b/ham. he's a hun through and through it would take 100k pw before he'd sign for us. and for that reason, I doubt we'd offer him anything.

I personally wouldn't want any of my teams rivals to sign for my team. I'm sure there would be alot who wouldn't mind, but there would also be those in the same boat as me.

Just because I don't want Boyd playing for Celtic it automatically has to be bigotry?

Like I said, maybe nothing to do with bigotry - but plenty to do with pride and stupidity

if you were a real madrid fan, you wouldn't want the best player in the world in messi, if you could have him for free?!
    c'mon now.

I can see your point, but Boyd is no Messi.

Somebody somewhere is talking pish. I will believe that he isnt going to Celtic, when he signs for somebody else.

Can't help thinking that this has the makings of another Mo Johnston scenario

and sadly, we're no madrid. but aye, certainly there isn't the same apeal. I don't know that I'd be happy with Boyd, because I don't think he'd try (even less than he does for them). but if they had a player that was good enough for us (like Davis or something) I'd not mind us signing him for free. It would hurt them more than it would hurt us. that's for sure.
Ultimately it comes down to a player rather than the team they play for, imo.

Of course not. I wouldn't want him either. No way he'd give his all. I also don't like his general attitude. Would take the huff at the drop of a bridie.

Thing about this article is that when Boyd goes elsewhere, only Celtic fans will remember it, but if (and it's a big if) he does sign for Celtic, then everyone will remember the club's comments.
