Would love that to happen, I've been saying for around 4 years now that Pique and Thiago Silva will be the best defenders in the world very soon.

Would love to see them as a partnership :50:

Would love to see Silva at Barca, hes the best defender about just now great in the air and on the deck and some tackler like the new Lucio a complete defender.

Barca should sign him, Rossi and a new left-back. Marcelo would be ideal for them but theyd never get him off Real Madrid.

    :50: Great signing for Bayern

Bayern might be getting back to their best with him and Neuer as theyve lacked a keeper and pacey centre-back for a while. Demechelis and Van Buyten were like Corpses :56:Neuer is probably faster and a better defender than either of them and they got them to the Champions League final a year ago plus Gustavo sitting infront is a step up from Van Bommel.

If they get another defender then they could be there or thereabouts for the Champions League next year if Barcelona slip up somwhere.

My mate is a huge Bayern fan and the lack of pace at CB drove him insane..he used to always play Tmyo and Gustavo at CB in FIFA.

I have never really watched Boateng play except for Germany and I thought he was more of a fullback?

He is probably more of a full-back but can play anywhere in defence. I thinkk they'll use him at centre-back with Van Buyten or Badstuber with Lahm and Rafinha at full-back but if they sign another defender they might use him at left-back or right-back with Lahm on the other side. They have the makings of a really good team Gomez is in form and a handfull up front and they have Robben, Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Muller, Gustavo probably only Barca and Real have a better midfield to forward than them, theyre a defender or two away from beiing easily the 3rd best in Europe. They'll be kicking themselves for selling Hummels.

Vladimir Weiss has refused to be a makeweight in any deal to take Alexis Sanchez from Udinese to Manchester City.talkSPORT has been told Weiss doesn’t want to move to Italy and would prefer instead to go to Spain, where Espanyol are reported to be interested.

Weiss' stance could scupper Roberto Mancini’s bid to land the Chilean winger, who is also being tracked by Manchester United, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus.Weiss 21, has made just one appearance for City and spent last season on loan to SPL champions Rangers, and it's been reported that City have offered Udinese cash plus the Slovakian to seal the deal for the highly-rated Sanchez.

But, if he refuses to go, it could leave City facing an uphill battle to land the 22-year-old, with their bitter rivals Manchester United seemingly now heading the queue for Europe's most wanted man.

Udinese owner Gino Pozzo is looking to drive up the price by sparking a bidding war among Europe’s elite clubs to achieve his €40million valuation.

Chelsea and Manchester City remain in the hunt for Sergio Aguero after his agent scotched reports that the striker has agreed to join Juventus.

Reports in Italy had claimed that the Serie A side had all but sealed a £40m deal for the Atletico Madrid star, after his representatives met with Juve officials in Turin. The news would have ruled out a move to the Premier League for the Argentina international, who has been a long-term target for the two English sides.

But Hernan Reguera, who represents the 23-year-old, has insisted that no such meeting has taken place and that his client's future is still undecided."Sergio has two agents and we have both been in Argentina, we have not met anyone,"

    Reguera told Spanish newspaper AS.

"We have not been in Italy or anywhere, we are in Argentina working on his future. He is quiet, he has delegated this to us and is now focused on the Copa America."
