Looking back how do we feel? I’ve never seen a season more fondly remembered where the rivals have won a treble.
An absolutely classic Celtic team. Beaten by goal difference and extra time goals. Was it one of those ones or should we have done better?

A better goalkeeper would have made the difference that season.

Fantastic season, great memories. Was so gutted for Henke that we didn't win the final, He put absolutely everything into that run. Legend always.

Cant believe it was all that time ago now...Fells only like 10 years max to me.
The whole leading up to it was unreal...Watching the fans clamour to get their. The stories were magnificent to hear when they all came back.
Was so devastated for Henke ,he put everything into that and deserved to win that near alone.

To not come out of it with anything was hellish. Great memories though. Despite me being young at the time.

Was in Seville, final was the day after my 12th birthday. Ended up staying in the same hotel as the Porto team. Roy Keane in it as well. Got the official programme signed by the full team and Mourinho. Loads of photos with them all too. Absolutely great experience, but the result was gut wrenching.

MON used to use a squad of about 16 or 17 players and after that carry quite a number of younger players. Due to the rule then of having kids on the bench.
But we didnt have the huge squad we have now, yes more games now but quality over quantity is striking -
BBJ at Anfield, Henke at Blackburn, Boavista and of course 2 of the best headers you'll ever see in the final.
I not ashamed to say I cried with joy/relief when that winner went in at Boavista after big Joos og in first leg.
I still haven't watched final back, too painful.
THATS how important Europe is to us.
Scottish League and cup wins come and go, but it's Europe that's creates the real excitement, the memories and joy that we never forget.
Will always remember with fondness regardless of winning * all.
Its the type of season I desperately want for us again, we have the resources too but don't use them - if only the board saw it like that:31:cidermaster, bones58 and HoopyT like this. -

Never watched the final again. Mental when you consider it’s the only European Final in my lifetime. What a team we had then.

The day we stopped 10 in a row is my favourite childhood football memory. That seville season was my all time best * memory. Just the perfect time of being at uni, surrounded by football with not much else to think about day in day out. The whole run was memorable and probably will never be matched again in my lifetime.
Whether we should have won it or not, I don't think you can argue regarding the class of that Porto team. We fell just a bit short. Funny how I've already forgotten so many things celtic have won since then but I have such happy memories of us losing that final.cidermaster and Random Review like this. -
For a team to go on that run and only end up losing the league to a cheating hun team by goal difference is quite incredible.

Seville is the only football result I’ve never gotten over. Still have fond memories of the team and the European run that season, but ending up with no trophies was disappointing.

It’s why domestic dominance is never enough for me. I would happily sacrifice a cup or two to see us make a mark on Europe again, and Celtic Park become a stadium that opponents feared again.cidermaster likes this.
