well apparently he was the under 20 US national team captain. He's 21 now, and Freddy Adu replaced him.

 

Imo its good to see celtic give an Amercian a shot at CP, money to be made over there

Why is this in the rumours thread when hes ACTUALLY on trial, therefore no longer a rumour?

 

Im the opposite mate, i don't think Americans have really got what 'soccer' is all about yet, they are way behind in terms of evolution of the sport. I think the vast majority of Americans would find it extremely difficult coming over to play full-time in Scotland.

Claudio Reyna seemed to cope ok tho, so who knows. Im sitting firmly on the fence till i see this Dalby guy in action.

 

what makes you say that americans wouldnt be able to cope in scotland? they seem to cope in england. look at fulham, full of americans.

Cracking stuff

Going back to my point, i don't know if im making my point clear enough, or even if i CAN put across precisely. What i mean is if you look at Scottish football fans, especially Old Firm fans, then you can see the passion and what the game actually means to us. It's a big part of our lives and to see someone on the fringes of our teams not giving 100% every game is simply not accepted. What i have my reservations about is whether or not a 21 year old American lad will be able to step into the intense pressure that is being a Celtic player and be able to deal with the soaring expectations.

 

yeah since none of our players play in world leagues and starts....

we've made the world cup every time since 1984..give us credit. Only a few have been that long in history and just the powerhouses like argentina and brazil.
