What if he didn't qualify for the Champions League though? You're talking about him as though he's Pep Guardiola, completely forgetting that he's been sacked from his past two jobs.

I could forgive Moyes the Utd sacking although he did make a mistake getting rid of all the Utd staff. I don't know what happened to him at Sociedad. Different culture and language.

But you're right he's been sacked last two jobs and someone said the Everton fans are much happier with Martinez. Not putting the boot into Moyes, just that he's not Thomas Shaaf.

Lol Jozo you'll get reported for that quote :smiley-laughing002:

Imagine we went unbeaten for the rest of the season and won the treble then we had a really really really bad ref and everything in the game went against us dispute being the better team by miles and got knocked out of the champions league what would we do then

I'd sack him now. New manager in place for the January window to get his stamp on it..

    Won't happen though..

You're being silly now. If we signed Messi on a free and he played a dozen games over 2 years he'd still be deemed the best signing Celtic ever made. How could you lay the blame for such a hypothetical situation at a Managers door?

His best centre half was sold for more than that, context.

Genuinely can't even fathom what to think if that happened :smiley-laughing002: like missing out on the champions league is unforgivable but getting the treble ugh haha

Hopefully we only do the double then :fear:

I genuinely believe there are certain "fans" on this forum who would rather see us lose the league and cups this season, and fail to qualify for the Champions League in order to give it the big "I told you so" when it came to our manager.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day when the plastic fans who attend Chelsea games backed their manager when times were tough more than we do.

It's ridiculous to suggest Celtic signings should be judged on anything other than their performance in a Celtic shirt.

Having his best centre half sold has nothing to do with rating the signings he's made.

Jeez oh Jozo what a tearjerker that story is. Typical referee wagging his finger at us how ironic. But in a classic tale of redemption Ronny and the fans are crying together again at the end of the season as we lift the Europa league trophy!

Ouch bit harsh Daibhi, maybe some folk just want the double or even just the league as that will be enough to topple him but no one is willing to give up the 10iar for him. Only losing the league would get him the sack before the CL games.

How utterly depressing King of Kings, Messi on a Bosman and instead of winning the CL he plays 12 games in 2 years. The world would never forgive us. Yeah that would easily be our worst ever signing :smiley-laughing002:

I agree. However there are also those who clearly want Deila to stay at all costs, to be proven 'right' if he does eventually get things correct. Two sides to that coin

And ultimately, I'll back my club a million times over before I back any manager or players who I feel aren't up to task. I'm a Celtic fan, not a Ronny Deila fan.

I assume you're pointing the finger at the scouting staff as much as the manager when it comes to signings though, right? After all, it's well known how our system works.

John Park received a lot of credit over the years for unearthing some real gems, so him and his team must take their fair share of the blame as well I guess?

I'm basing an appraisal on Janko on his pedigree and what we've seen of him so far. Is that OK with you? :56:

His transfers out have a direct impact on his transfers in, a portion of the 10 he's spent is to negate the loss of VVD.

That's entirely different, although it said a lot that you're holding up a guy who's played 6 games in 6 months as a 'good signing'.

If he never plays again he'd still be a good signing.

The buck stops with the manager, as it does at every club in the world.
