My evidence is he's now manager of Bolton, and the team regressed in terms of his best players been sold and his and the scouting departments failure to sign adequate replacements, my point is I think he would have struggled with the budget just as any Ronny replacement will struggle in Europe

I think it's safe to say he doesn't know how to stop goals on the big stage.

 

Would sooner see some of the imposters who call themselves Celtic players go. I find it so difficult with Ronny, because he talks such a good game. I mean he assembled a side on a much tighter budget than ours who were better than Molde, and who done decent in Europe.

I know it's not working, but I find it hard to pin all the blame on him when individual errors have cost us so dearly in Europe this campaign.

Why do people keep mentioning the budget when all we are asking for is to qualify for the UCL and there are teams with much less money than us who make it? We're not asking for the last 16, we know that is an amazing feat considering it's the best 16 teams in a Europe full of spending power.

Thats not evidence he wanted to leave. Had he been offered and taken a job in Germany be evidence that he wanted to leave for Germany?

Would it not be possible that he was angry that the board refused to keep Samaras even though Lenny wanted him to stay and the player himself was willing to take a cut in wages. Neil Lennon was not backed by the Celtic board despite the millions raked in during his tenure.

Nah it's like 36 goals or something we've conceded now. Gary's post says the 24 games are all games in Europe INCLUDING qualifiers, with the other list just groups and knockout games.

Fair enough they're qualifying games but we'd pump those teams with no * in the dugout.

 

I know where you're coming from, he really does seem like a guy who has a great philosophy of the game but when we're not progressing who do we blame? It always has to start at the top. He should have brought his own staff with him. I still hope he can perform a miracle and win our next two EL games. It's almost as if we don't like pressure, we play much better when we are the underdogs, as soon as we play a game when we're favourites we start ok then crumble at the knees.

 

Still, 36 goals lost in a year and a half in Europe.
