I don't understand why Ronny is so persistent and rigid with the 4-2-3-1, it makes us very predictable and tactically inflexible. It's cost us on occasions. With the personnel and players we currently have, I'd like to see a 3-5-2. Particularly because the full-backs who played in our last game - Lustig and Blackett - are much better defensively than going forward and this means we suffer a bit when attacking as we don't have the required width and outlet from the full backs which is so important in modern football. On the other hand, Janko and Izaguirre aren't the best defenders but are good going forward, so it would be interesting to see them both in the wing-back position. Also it means we can get 2 strikers up top, which many people have been asking for recently.

    Gordon

    Lustig Šimunović Blackett

    Biton

    Janko Brown Johansen Izaguirre

    Ciftci Griffiths

I personally think his choice of tactics are poor, zonal marking is a cop out, FFS make players responsible for their actions, or in Ambrose's case the lack of them.

Deila is in danger of falling into the same old trap of showing too much loyality to certain players, Broony is not playing well at the moment, give him a break and rest him for a couple of games.

Johansen needs a good kick up the *, he aint performed at all this season. Mulgrew flatters to deceive, its only because Izzy has been worse than Mulgrew that he keeps his place, or is he also one of Ronnies chosen few.

He needs to look at other formations and implement them in order to keep other teams guessing, at the moment we are too predictable. Why not try 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 when playing in the SPFL, I hate us playing with one single striker in Scotland.

So start looking at all the various options Ronnie or the Celtic supporters will become more vocal on your decisions !!!

WGS brought in zonal, didn't he? And tbh, IF our defenders defended properly we wouldn't be talking about zonal marking. i'd love to see Ronny be more flexible but I just can't see it. The 4231 is played right through every level at the club now.

Lenny also used zonal marking, so it's not a new thing.

Zonal marking if done right is very effective.

We, though, happen to be incredibly * at it. We are making it look alot worse than it is. I prefer man marking don't get me wrong, but zonal can and does work. Our players just need to get the finger oot.

It certainly has looked that way in recent games. Still no need to panic though.

Confidence within the defence certainly comes into it, too.

A month or so ago I wasn't worried about us at set pieces, now we look vulnerable everytime the ball comes into the box. Boyata is lacking confidence, Lustig hasn't been playing great and Gordon looks shaky as *.

4-4-2 is the most effective in our league why doesn't he adjust his tactics to that formation

He is the only man who cant see this. It doesnt even need to be 442 but interplay between 2 strikers is what we need.

No, it's not. Going back to the classic 442 under Lenny is what frequently * us.

My favourite formation was Lennons inverted 442 followed closely by the diamond. I also think we have the players to go 352. I wouldnt necessarily want a flat 442 but I think it could be done if Armstrong or Brown played wide coming in with a more traditional winger on the other side (sorta like the inverted shape)

If our full backs are going to be out and out wingers we need 3 CBs. Often in domestic games we get away with having two exposed CBs, but in the big domestic games we suffer and in Europe we get raped.

3 5 2 is they way I'd like to see us play. Or some variation that gives us strength at the back and penetration up front.

I can't believe the lunacy in here sometimes and the knee * reactions. We have had a bad few weeks and everyone looses faith. Look at Chelsea, should they sack mourinho? Is he a bad manager? Has he lost the dressing room?

Ofcourse not, it's a bad spell all managers have it, should we have sacked oneil in 05 if he didn't step down as we didn't win the league, did he all of a sudden not have a clue?

I'll wait until the end of November before I start worrying. I still remember all the sack the board and sack Lennon threads at the beginning of 11/12 when we were 12 points behind Sevco and by January 1st he was a legend again, if we listened to all the idiots then we would have had no Barcelona win and no last 16.

Calm down its only September, mon the hoops!
