True, but only to a certain degree. I don't think you can translate "money spent" that directly from one league to another. All those Malmö players would have been way more expensive the minute Celtic showed some interest in them (hypothetically speaking). Take Djurdic for instance, who went to Malmö from my local club. Quality player who used to absolutely rape the Norwegian league. If I'm not mistaken, I think Malmö payed a little over 1 million pounds for him. If Celtic had shown some interest at the time, they probably would have had to pay the double amount of that (and the player would have expected higher wages as well). Because "Celtic = big club", so everyone can ask for more.

    Edit:

Sorry, Djurdic went to Helsingborg first, then later went to Malmö (for even cheaper, actually).

Mowbray, my mistake. Regardless, he was a marketing signing.

In terms of evidence a link or something physical? Nope.

He was consulted and told Keane directly to his face he was happy with his midfield and he was not his signing. That I do have evidence for, it's in black and white in Keane's book.

And that's before Virgil (and possibly Bitton might go for big money too).

And I'm sorry to keep banging on about this but does Kennedy not deal with our set plays?

And Kennedy is a coach, thus making it a coaching issue.

I think Kennedy specialises in our corners and set play pieces, thus he does directly have a role in this fiasco of losing three goals to Malmo from corners, not to mention the zonal marking.

Quite surprised at some people wanting Ronny sacked, 3 months ago he could do no wrong and was the best thing since sliced bread
Now is not the time to become like Leeds, Watford and Sunderland and pull the trigger when we suffer a disappointment
We have made one of our best starts to a league season in years unbeaten after 5 games and last Saturday showed us that our squad depth now is miles better then what it was a few seasons ago

We're 2nd. 3rd if Aberdeen win the game in hand.

Ronny has never fully convinced me the stubbornness tactically annoys the life out me

I've no problem with Deila saying the players looked scared. I said the exact same thing in the match thread.

I used to grit my teeth when the likes of Lennon and Strachan defended players even though we knew they were *. I think it's refreshing to see a manager saying exactly what he, and all of us saw.

The inflexibility with formation and shape makes us easy to set up against and it's arrogant to keep playing the same way. However no system can legislate for losing the goals we did.

Tactically naive, out played, out fought and we lacked desire.. It was a poor poor performance that lacked in so many areas.

Ronny must take the brunt of the blame..

The Europa League was scant consolation last year but it was none the less a consolation as we could have easily lost a play-off.. this year meh!(although once I see our group I'll get into it I'm sure)

    Ronny stays and hopefully learns...

And unbeaten other then a dodgy refereeing decision up at Killie we'd be 100% 5 from 5

Even if Ronny is sacked John Collins gets the job so will things really be any different? will John guide us to the last 16 of the CL? I think not

I've been calling this a coaching issue all day, mate. You'll get no disagreement from me on that one! :smiley-laughing002:

I doubt if Ronny walked or had his contract mutually terminated that Collins would get the job, he must carry the can for last night too.

If Deila does go, I would love to see us bring Steve Clarke in, because I think Clarke would have the know how to fix this mess quickly, and the man management skills to get all the players back on board, including Stokes.

Got to be honest now, I'm baffled that folk think Ronny saying the players looked scared is an insult. I think that's protecting them. The truth; that we looked like a keystone cops, shower of amateurs who'd never played together before, and couldn't tell a football from a bowling ball would have been hanging them out to dry in public...

Away against Malmö he went for a 4-3-3 rather than the usual 4-2-3-1. So it's a bit of a moot point to criticize him for not changing things around, when that's exactly what he did - and Celtic lost because of it. Should've stuck to the tried and tested, if anything.
