It's my opinion, in seeing how the team has changed and slowly improving in many aspects. Some accolades you could say Ronny winning the Norweigen league on a small budget with a mid-table team while bringing through good young talented players. Lennon, we had 1 successful season in Europe.

Could imagine it for last year, £2.2m for Scepovic, £2m odd Armstrong, GMS fee, Denayer, Wakaso, Berget, Guidetti, Tonev loan fees.

    Got to be £6m'ish.

Again this is his fault. We were 2 up and cruising. We then had a corner. From this corner they broke quickly and had a 4 v 2 situation. This is mental when the key to the half was not conceding. Brown made a mistake sure but he should never have been in that position in the first place. This was poor management, call a spade a spade.

A chance to play in Europe's Elite competition, against some of the best players the world has to offer, but our players needed motivated.

I was forgetting about Armstrong and GMS.

Scepovic man, who the * sanctioned that one? That's a sackable offence right there.

It only includes the first window, not GMS window. The accounts are the last interim ones from around this time last year. They suggest that we spent more than the same window previously, i.e. pukki, balde, derk, bitton, vvd, a window that Lenny was ripped to shreds for as well btw.

Very easy to find, just search this forum

No doubt we done fantastically well that season but it seems to be rarity for us nowadays, you would need to back to Strachan when we done so well before that. I was always behind Lennon, he frustrated me at times but always believed in him just like I do with Ronny.

Pressure will be for next years CL qualifying for Ronny as I think that could be very decisive in his future here, but if we get a successful EL campaign will people still complain? Even if we got through last night wouldn't we just get pumped out by far superior teams, so at least in EL we have a good chance of European football after Christmas.

His achievements in Norway are commendable for sure, however they hold very little weight here.

I don't see this improvement in many aspects. Our midfield looked as lost last night as they did last year, our striker every bit as isolated and our defence just as vulnerable.

Al lot of people seem intent on comparing Ronny to Lennon is an effort to support him, but in reality he doesn't come up positively in that comparison at all.

I would give Lennon a B+ during his time at Celtic, in that he took over a terrible side and restructured it entirely, building a side that could compete in the CL proper. His cup record was poor though.

Deila, I would probably give a D to so far. The 'improvement' has been extremely slow, if it is happening at all. He strikes me as an assistant manager/coach more than the main man.

Brown was left back with nobody to mark. How many more men do you want to stay back. We obviously set up pretty well because Brown was positioned well enough to cut out a long hopeful ball, what he done after that has nothing to do with Ronny Deila, and everything to do with Scott Brown. He had a simple 5 yard header to his pick of 5 Celtic players, and headed it straight to the opposition. It wasn't his only shocking header in the game, he had one first half that nearly cost a goal as well. Deila's fault as well no doubt.

In hindsight, signing those 5 in one window (even though 3 of them were *) is a very impressive bit of business.

But you are comparing Ronny to the Lenny at the end of his tenure, not 14 months into Lennon's reign. Very similar stats at that point in their respective Celtic careers.

I agree. This was all about psychology. And the reason why Celtic looked so much more comfortable against Inter was that they had nothing to loose then. Nobody expected Celtic to beat Inter over two matches. Malmö was a completely different matter. Everyone expected Celtic to beat them over the two games, despite Malmö actually being a very decent team. Couple that with all the pre-match huffing and puffing from both teams, and it's clear that Celtic had everything to loose against Malmö.

I don't agree with this. Celtic and Malmö are at a very similar level player for player, and it was always gonna be small margins that would separate the two. The quality of the Celtic team was hyped up before the game, while Malmö's quality was seriously under-played - which was just perfect conditions for Malmö to perform (and the opposite for Celtic). Also, I think the first game was pretty even - except for the first 20 min. or so.

14 months into Lennon's reign, I could honestly say I had seen a period of rapid improvement. The speech he gave at the end of the season we lost the league to Smith's Rangers was testament to that - there was a general belief amongst the support that we were on the cusp of something very, very good. And we were.

I just can#t say the same about Deila's Celtic, as much as I would love too.

We shouldn't be though, not for the money we spend compared to them.

And then he failed to reach the Champions league again the following season after the speech.

I hate doing this because nobody loved Lenny more than me, I'm just trying to point out the similarities.

I even alluded to this as well in the match thread before the game. I think it was tailor made for Gudetti. I had a feeling we would dear buy not getting him

Yeah because Bolton fans are so interested in Lennys opinions on Celtic
