It's not that I don't want to romp to league titles though. It's up to other teams to try and compete with us. The main gripe I have with Lennon last season was the embarrassing cup exits. Our season was over in early February. Put it this way, I'm far more optimistic about the future right now, than I was 12 months ago.

I * loved from Christmas onwards last season, some of the best football I've seen at Celtic, the play between Griffiths, Stokes and Commons was excellent, the emergrence of Johansen, Broony bossing it in midfield, Mulgrews passing, Van Dijk's runs, Forsters clean sheets, scoring for absolute fun. * loved it.

You again. Im not that sad that i would block someone but it must be a half dozen times i have asked you to stop interacting with me on here. Please stop misrepresenting me I am not belittling anything as I will explain further down. Commons and Forrest in the final eh. Hard to beat.

Look we all want to win the treble every season. Im just saying that if we slip up in the domestic cups after winning the league and getting into europe it is not the end of the world.

I have been accused in the past and by the rocket above to this day of being anti Ronny. This is not true and has never been true. Sure i wanted him sacked earlier because our start to the season was unacceptable and must never be allowed to happen again. I would take Nacho * Novo in our dugout if he could bring us a European trophy.

I am optimistic about our future the now as well. Delia has a lot of traits that are better than Lennon but he is way behind in some respects. He has hinted that he will not be setting us up to counter better teams and that we will play it our way. Noble yes but this will end in failure in the CL groups. He will learn though but if he does not adapt the season after then it could be trouble.

The most important thing we need to win the 10 is to get into the CL every season. Stability is key. No more changing managers or selling the spine of our team. We have a golden opportunity.

I agree, probably the least exciting 2nd half of the season I'v seen. Season was over at the start of February.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be worse than the CL group stages last year. A punt from Forster in the direction of Samaras and hope for the best. It was chronic to watch. I always highlight one game in particular, and it was Ajax away. Shocking we were that night. The fitness levels of the team might well allow us to go and play our way, it did against Inter, where we were undone by our own goalkeeper, and a shocking display by the officials in Italy, but that has certainly given me hope that we can do well next season in Europe.

I thought the second half of last season was a bit "meh" to be honest. This year is far more exciting. On the other hand I don't remember it being as boring as some are claiming. There was always something going on (clean sheet record, Commons' goal tally, how quickly could we win it, etc). A few really enjoyable games too.

How do you think Ronny's team would cope in the CL if Johansen, Virgil and Bitton were all sold in the summer and replaced with Derk, Pukki and Balde? That's essentially what happened to Lenny with the loss of Hooper, Wanyama and Wilson. It's ridiculous to blame Lenny for that last CL campaign.

    Edit: OK, and Virgil.

ooooft, I wonder if lennon will regret saying this, makes him look a bit out of touch with modern sport, I'm kind of glad we have Ronny now if that is Lennon's outlook,

It would really depend on who Deila bought to replace them. Lennon would have got a say on those players you mentioned, and Ronny would also get a say on who we bring in. I'm not solely blaming Lennon for the CL campaign last year, what I am saying is, the approach we took was horrible to watch, and that is down to Lennon. We went away to Amsterdam, to play a decent Ajax team, probably about the same level as we were, and we looked inferior fitness wise, and football wise. It was embarrassing how far off them we looked, even though I wouldn't say they were any better than us on paper.

I don't think Lenny had the players or the preparation time to play any other way at that stage and I think his say on the signings will have been limited to picking from a shortlist. It speaks volumes that he walked from the club he loves without a job to go to.

As a neutral fan he's come good & he's looking to bring in young Scots like gms, Henderson, McGregor, Thumb, Forrest & armstrong! Hopefully yous can wrap up the title so players like Calvin miller, Paul McMullan (if he's back from loan), Joe Thomson, Conor McManus etc a chance!

This Celtic team excites me tbh.

Hopefully we dont sell any players like king, pallardo & Nicholson & give yous some challenge.

We don't know what type of players would be on Deila's shortlist though. For all we know, the players on it could come in and be better than the ones that leave. I've always said there was something not right when he left with no club to go to, and there was definitely something going on behind the scenes, but as I said earlier, in hindsight, I think it has been a good thing.

Denayer is 50/50 would love him back again but who will take a chance on him he would actually be better suited staying in school then going to the likes of Ajax at least he'll be used to the style of play also fell positive about getting an other year off Van Dijk a very optimistically hopeful
Yea but it was his time to go we need to move on and learn from are mistakes momentum shouldn't be underestimated and hope Ronny outshines him big jock burns and everybody else

I had a lot of time for Lenny and his contribution will always be remembered. I wished him luck then and continue to do so however he chose to leave and we now have a new manager and its looking ,although early days yet, like it was a good decision for the Club. That's the bottom line.
