    Well said.

I made this point in the middle of our horrific EL group stage. The players just aren't/weren't applying themselves and showing enough heart to win. That shouldn't ALL come from the manager (it's his job to motivate, yes) but wearing the hoops and having fans as supportive as ours (as well as thousands of pounds the club pays you) should mean for 90 minutes you do anything to win.

I doubt he'll get an English club. Never know, he could end up at City's academy with his contact's..

I wonder does he have major regrets.

Regardless, I think it will have been a good learning curve for him anyway.

The players may have been causing him trouble but imagine being griffaldo. Screaming for help up top and he gets nothing. The players can see the guys tactics are *. Must of been infuriating.

Yeah I wish him all the best in the future as well. It's just this job was too big for him.

He had a win rate of 45% at stromgodset when he was there. So coming here where the expectation was to win every game, then it obviously was too much for him. I don't think he got what it meant to manage Celtic. You can see in his interviews he couldn't believe some of the criticisms when we lost.

He may well become a great manager from what he has learned here. Just was too big and too soon for him here.

We'll never know what has happened behind the scenes. Were the players not responding to his training? Was there a falling out between him and senior members of the squad? Is Collins a bawbag? Who knows. It just didn't work here.

Best of luck to him. Right decision, but I do feel sorry for him, had the right ideas and always conducted himself in the right manner, just didn't have all that was required.

In retrospect, the whole RD experiment seems bizarre, with John Collins hanging around in the shadows like a vampire. I hope he's out the door before Ronnie. The worst aspect has been the way that the team has stopped playing for Ronnie. That, and the bombastic rhetoric of the fitness-based, high pressing, attack oriented football that became more and more a distant dream as RD's tenure became more and more vulnerable. There seems to be something deeply fragile at the core of our team. This is not a team of fighters. There have been some truly awful displays this season, and our status has been diminished because of them. No one fears us. That the orcs outplayed us the way they did has really damaged us, and I only hope there is enough fortitude remaining in the team to see us through to the Championship this season. To fail in this would be unthinkable. I'm not sure that NL is the right person for the job. But I definitely wouldn't want Roy Keane as our manager. David Moyes or Brendan Rodgers may have the professionalism, drive, and understanding of our culture to quickly restore some pride and belief. Next season has to deliver a Celtic team who can compete in the Champions League and, most importantly, put the orcs back in their box. That said, Ronnie is a decent person, and I wish him all the best for the future. As someone said in an earlier post, I hope we don't have to face one of his teams in a qualifier any time soon. HH

Could have sworn I posted about him leaving yesterday and the thread was deleted.

    Yep, that's exactly what happened.

This is Old news. I posted on here months ago maybe back in late 2015 that Ronny was not going to be here next season. Didn't matter what he achieved this season. For me it's a 9 months too late. Lawwell is the man to blame.
