Great sense of relief at this announcement. But lets be honest with ourselves this should have happened at least in December if not before.

The mess Ronny is leaving behind will be some job for the new manager to clear up in time for the start of the new season.

First job for the new manager should be to restore team morale and pride in themselves.

I'd be happier hearing Collins and Kennedy are away in all honesty.

You don't think he done his best? You don't think some players deserve as much criticism? It didn't work out we all know that but i feel very sorry for ronnie because imo the players never trully got behind him.

It worries me a little that we are allowing him to finish the season off. You would think getting the new manager on the training pitch ASAP would be a top priority for the board.

I feel it's a bit of a sympathy call, letting Ronny leave with two titles under his belt, It'll look better on his C.V, but that's not the business we are in.

I'm happy on one hand as I like the man and respect his effort, but there's something larger at stake.

Most dissapointed i've been with a Celtic manager, really thought he would bring in a new age of Celtic.

I think going to a club that would give him full control of staff and player recruitment he could have a solid managerial career, sadly though was never going to get such control here.

Im not one for going back. There were reasons why Lenny left. We may never know the real reason but it wasn't exactly harmonious. There was always that air that if things were different he would have stayed on. Id like to see someone who has a pedigree of performing in Europe. Lets be honest Ronny has proved even with his limited inexperience we are after all still at the top of the League. Anyone but the disharmony that Keane would bring

Ronny’s Resignation speech – YNWA Ronny

    What Ronny Said:
Ronny Deila said: “It is vital that the Club comes first and instead of me being the focus, hopefully now the team and the Club can be the focus as we enter this final important period of the season.
“It was an absolute privilege to be named manager of Celtic, such a wonderful football club, and I have enjoyed my time here immensely. I will never forget the welcome I received almost two years ago at Celtic Park from so many fans. When I joined Celtic I knew I was coming to one of the world’s great football clubs.
“There have been some great times and I am delighted that we have brought some trophies to the Club.
“I was delighted in my first year to bring our fans a League and Cup double and enjoy some European nights at Celtic Park, and I am pleased this season to be well in contention to win another Premiership title.
“There have been some disappointments and times when we have not achieved what we had hoped for and I’m realistic and honest enough to admit that, but I know that the players, myself and my backroom team have always given everything we had to bring success to our supporters.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me so well at the Club. The fans have been magnificent during the past two years. Our fans are the heartbeat of the Club, they have always given myself and the team such amazing support and always created such a great atmosphere. We have always given our best for them and I will always be a Celtic supporter too.
“I also want to thank Dermot Desmond, Ian Bankier, Peter Lawwell, the players and my staff. They have given me everything.
“My total focus now is on retaining our Premiership title and making it five-in-a-row for our great club and proving that we are the best in the country. Myself and the players will be giving everything we can to achieve this and I know that starting on Sunday we must all unite and drive the Club on and really go for what we all want as Celtic supporters – to be Scottish Champions once again.”

Wish him all the best, should never have had the job in the first place but that blame lies elsewhere.
He's had dignity throughout and can only go with the best wishes of the support.

I would like to echo the sentiments of those who have said we should get behind big ronny deila for the rest of the season. We like to pat ourselves on the back about being great supporters. If we can't give a title winning manager a warm send off then we deserve to lose the title next year to the Blue Zombie SS FC 2012 (the least successful club in the Premiership )

The fact Ronny isn't leaving immediately makes me think Lenny isn't getting the job, otherwise it could have been all done and dusted today. While I had heard that Lenny was likely to be offered the job it seems there is still some who are not happy with the manner in which he left or perhaps Lenny wasn't prepared to issue a suitably worded interview. I guess we will probably never know.
Anyway I really do wish Ronny all the best and I will probably have a soft spot for whatever team/s he manages in the future , within reason of course :smiley-laughing002:

The main reason the new man might not start until the summer is because the new man might potentially be an old man who knows the team and club inside out...Lennon.
