I can see your point, the difference is Moyes would have the Celtic achievements as supplementary to what he did at Everton. With Lennon we were his C.V.

Villa have no chance of an immediate return to the Premiership IMO. They are a club in absolute turmoil. In-fighting at boardroom level, several tendering their resignations this week. A club captain who was pictured in a London hotel with a couple of dirtys, with laughing gas canisters strewn all over the hotel room floor, on the night Villa were relegated.

The next job for Moyes is critical, fail and his name will be muck.

Those points you raise about Villa are exactly what will make the job so appealing. Moyes will basically be able to demand that he's allowed to come in and tear the whole thing down and start again.

I just don't see him coming to Scotland if there's any half decent option on the table down south. Even looking at it personally rather than professionally, who the * would give up the chance to make more money in an environment that isn't as poisonous as the west of Scotland?

If we do get him it'll take something really special to tempt him. We got O'Neill because we paid him well and offered him a great budget.

I don't see our board doing that for Moyes, or anyone else actually. I wouldn't be surprised if Guardiola offered to bump City and take up the reigns here for the board to say "okay Pep, we'll bring you in. But you have to accept the assistant we pick for you otherwise it's no deal!" :smiley-laughing002:

    * me, I know Lenny was a * of a manager, but didn't think he was that bad.

You need to be off your rocker to let him back again, sorry he is a * manager.

Had a wee golden phase (part season) and that was it with Barca and *, but sorry still bottled it and looked worse and worse as it went on.

    Don't bring back.

CL Twice, Last 16 once, Beating Barca, first away win the CL. Turning Profit in player sales every season, turning young rough diamonds into multi million pound players...

All that done while bigoted maniacs were verbally and physically assaulting him and trying to kill him.

It's you that's off his * rocker if you think we turn down that kind of experience.

The only thing that matters there is the bottom 2 stats. Europe is where it is at for us especially. We were competing at a far higher level with Lennon and his stats include 2 champions league campaigns vs ronnys europa league campaigns.

You could ignore the fact that those wins included our first away win in the CL, a feat not achieved by WGS or MON and a win over Barca. Maybe a list of the opposition might put things in perspective.

20 defeats is quite surprising to be honest.

Do you know what's funny I seem to remember most being sick of Lenny on here coming up to the his last few months in charge. :smiley-laughing002:

In fact I don't think there was too many tears shed when he left either.

My preference to replace Ronny is Rodgers, then Laudrup and then Moyes. After those three I'd honestly just rather give Ronny another season because the names being branded about after that just don't fill me with any joy whatsoever.

I wasn't defending Ronny or criticising Neil with that image. Just wanted to share it because I thought it was interesting.

I wasn't sad in the slightest when Lenny left. I wasn't happy either but it had been coming. The football was * and it felt like it was getting stale. And I'm not keen on the idea of him coming back already...but if we can't get one of the more 'ambitious' names then it has to be Lennon.

Otherwise we'll be stuck with Keane, Coyle, Mackay etc.

that stat doesn't tae into account that lennon had cl games against much tougher opposition to prepare for than ronny in the EL. very misleading.

tbh i thin he'd have turned it around. he had to rebuild the squad after the spine had been ripped out and he never really got the chance to do it properly before he left.

He didn't seem to want to have that opportunity though. Hence why he left, almost as if he knew the quality of the team had declined too much...
