I think PL/DD have taken the view Ronny has got 8 points ahead with 5 games left, so he should lift the League trophy. I'm also guessing that they set out targets for this season, which were part of his staying for another year and on which Ronny agreed - probably minimum of the Double. So if he's sacked now, we're in breach of contract, which means money, and if he stays for 5 games, both parties can say 'goodbye' and move on.

Got to start the process of bedding in a new manager now...

We've got a talented squad, new manager would give the place a lift and give him time to assess the squad properly!

Even if Lawell thinks he's lined up a replacement why wait? Football is unpredictable and if the potential manager is any good he may well get a better offer!!

The apathy of the board to our situation is a * embarrassment.. We shouldn't stand for it and fan ownership is the only way we'll get our club back..

Same old story we as club always fail to build properly from a position of strength.

    Act now DD and PL!

I guess that's true, even though he has done a dreadful job he is entitled to finish off our campaign. We should definitely be announcing that he will be leaving though.

Done a great job, but I'd much rather they called Martin.

He can still have his bonus and his medal if he goes now, surely?

I don't think it makes sense to sack him now when we are 2/3 games from the title. We could end up with Collins as interim coach for goodness sake! Ronny will secure 5 in a row and then we can part ways. Clearly from today the board should be identifying their new man and giving him as much time as possible to look over the squad and prepare for next season. Lets hope they can find an inspired choice who gets the fans united for next season right from the start!

Act in haste repent in leisure.
The club needs some time to think and make sure they get the next guy right....no more projects like lennon and ronny.

Martin O'Neill would never come back to Celtic.

He'd turn his nose down at us right away, as he wouldn't be able to spend the same amount of money as he previously had in his time here.

Celtic aren't an attractive prospect in management anymore. Let's be honest, any half decent manager wouldn't even consider us.

Last time around MON was outspent by our main rival. This time he will be the big spender in the league.

It would not be hard to draw up a list of managers who went to teams that were smaller spenders than his previous teams. The much linked Moyes for a start

"Let's be honest here, we're not going to sack Deila today and have a suitable man, be he a caretaker or not, in within a few days."

If that's the case then the board are simply negligent. Surely they were aware of the feelings of the majority of the fans? Surely they were aware of the pressure Deila was under even with a win on Sunday? Surely they were aware that a loss would leave him in a position that was simply unrecoverable?

Imo, options should've been spunded out long before now, both long term and short term.

The guys a * scapegoat and I know that won't wash well with some people but he is the board are to blame for the mass of * brought to this club and the lack of ambition shown over the last * knows how many years is appalling we went from signings like wanyama hooper Forster van dijk to * cheap loan deals and the cheapest of all nicking young players from Scottish teams earning buttons per week, Deila imo is one problem but the board better shape the * up and not repeat the same * these manky * will go all out to correct what they believe is a terrible iniustice against them and try win the league and to be honest from what iv seen their not far away from the level required we are a sinking * ship every bit of quality we lose we replace with cheap * and people think we should be in Europe were a laughing stock and things need to change starting at the top.

Martin or Michael, apart from neither for me, Euros run from June 10th - July 10th and CL 2nd Qualy is on July 12th or 13th. Need someone in with his head screwed on for next season, almost as this season ends. I'd like to think we already have our man, but they (Board/new Bhoy) don't want to announce him till Ronny goes.

I understand lawell initial thoughts. Young manager does impossible and wins league with * team. Can do that on a grander scale? It's not worked and he needs to hold his hand up and move on but he's let it go too long now so if nothing is done this week he should go too.

I don't think either are going to happen but they are more likely to join us than still be involved at the Euros on July 10th

The main thing is to have a manager free of undue interference (see cases Ledley and Samaras, as well as the signings the managers did not necessarily want). Money itself is not so much a problem. Shifting 2-3 midfielders, 2 centre backs + 2-3 CF-s would enable some nice spending.

Was saying this in the pub yesterday after the game. Deila is only a constituent part of a club underperforming in every department. I don't want Deila to go as a sacrificial lamb and everything else escapes the spotlight it should be under. Scouting, Youth development, Coaching all need to be looked at also. And those that have appointed these individuals and overseen a massive underperformance ie. The Board should be held accountable too.

Think the next managerial appointment will be seen as a real statement of intent from the board! Bringing in a Moyes would instantly get the full backing of the fans and we would go back to Celtic Park full house buzzing with excitement again! The board have * up the last few years, they can't afford to * up again! Proven quality manager who excites the support needed!

Im time at the helm here so far the defence has been organised enough. Has never known his strongest XI, lives and dies by Stefan Johansen, has an unbalanced squad and we have one striker who we actually have a lot to thank for this season.
