    Hardly.

We played some decent stuff but I think we were all getting excited because we had actually won about 4 league games in a row after a couple of shocking results.

In his time here we've probably only had about 4 or 5 really enjoyable, exciting performances in the league.

This is it in a nutshell.

The fact that the most negative, depressing, downer poster in TalkCeltic history thinks we've played 5 good games proves he can get it right.

I guarantee you were in the match thread during those 4 or 5 games slating absolutely everything about our team :56:

You're deluded if you think we've seen signs of what Ronny promised. Any team can have the odd cracking game.

Surely you can see that most of the time, and by most I mean about 75%, we play boring, predictable football? Inconsistency is not the problem.

That seems to be your only reply that I'm negative and depressing. I ain't. I'm saying it like it is.

    You're living in * fantasyland.

Drawing the third best team in Scotland away from home in the 1/4's is akin to getting a bye to the semi-finals and the easiest draw in League Cup history. Aye awrite, crackpot.

Domestically WGS teams couldn't get anywhere near the point tallies the others racked up.

In Europe though, it's a different story.

Much preferred Lenny's football out of the 3 though.

You live under a black, miserable, cloud.

I thought the only time Lennon's football was good to watch was the periods Stokes played beside Hooper. Apart from that I don't see much difference with that period and the current one.

People forget Lennon was a defeat from literally being huckled out the door until Stokes saved him.

Europe is the big thing, we need a reaction this time around or his time is up. But not before IMO.

The basic problem is, Ronny is not getting the best out of the resources available to him. So as soon as we come up against a well organised well motivated team who know more or less how we will play, we struggle.

Any team we draw in the CL will feel the have a chance, and if we keep Ronny they'll be right.

It does seem perverse that even if we win the double we want Ronny gone, but it would be more perverse to let him blow another chance at £12m. Especaily as we won't be getting the "Southampton money" this season.

Apart from anything else, getting someone in now could be counterproductive for the players.
When any manager comes in there is generally a quick boost as the players try to impress, followed by a lull as some of them realise they are not in favour etc, so there is just as much a risk attached to getting anyone in now with regards to CL qualifying, as there is letting Ronny continue to try and achieve his aims.

Imagine we change now, give him £5m in the summer and we dont qualify again. It would be like groundhog day and the manager (no matter who he is)would be in for instant stick.

Let him get on with it and support him.One thing is for sure is that the players and manager know when the support are behind them, and the opposition know it too.....so for me, he has the summer to have one more go and then lets see how it pans out.

Fair enough, I loved pretty much all of the football played under Lenny. Was always fast paced and high scoring. People haven't forgot that btw, it's brought up constantly in this thread as some sort of defence for Ronny.

For me we've had 3 months of consistent good football under Ronny, that was tail end of last season. We had a good wee 3/4 game run in January this season as well.

Outwith that though? It's been poor viewing.

Do you think he should be gone if we don't qualify for the CL next year?

Celtic isn't a platform for managers to come in and try stuff out.

"I'll get us their next season", heard it all before from Ronny and i can guarantee it will hit us in the pocket financially.

Look at the home attendances. Tells you everything. We've two guys in charge who both think they are the manager, one is and one wants to be. So it is never gonna work. In terms of Europe we don't have the physical players and i don't see that changing.

Lets look at the three strikers he brought in this season, how many goals have they scored? It's laughable just how unprofessional we are in the transfer market and we've one system fits all.

How long does it take him to put a defense together?

To suggest that's Champions' League material because you beat Killie with a last minute wonder strike, from a player you had no confidence in playing from the start is the big problem for Celtic in Europe and i don't think Ronny would accept that to be the case.

He'll walk in there with his eyes closed again and if it all goes * up he can just say we deserved to go out and that's alright.

I want a manager who's background reflects the size of the club. Not someone who qualifies for Europe by default and can't win three games to take the League Cup and can barely beat teams in Scotland.

I think WGS time here gets a bit of a battering and even when he was in charge. It was embarrassing to hear your own fans say he's not a True Celtic man and not good enough. I thought WGS was about the best tactical able manager we have had in years. He came in and his first task was to downsize big and replace great servants and high paid players with cheaper options. I stood in the San Siro that night and believed we could do Milan in their own play pen. Every one of our players sweated blood and gave every inch for Strachan and the fans that night. Only for 2-3 penalty claims we didn't get, we should have progressed.
This is the exact opposite of what I see in RD teams.

I loved what Strachan done for us and he done extremely well but we played * football under him. Have a look back and read some of the threads. They pretty much read like this one.

Huge difference is that Strachan got the results in Europe. Hoping RD gets us to the CL this time or his time will probably be up. Which must be putting a lot of pressure on him and the players.

The football we played under Lennon for the most part was really entertaining. There's so many games I can recall where we were fantastic to watch.

Seems some people can only remember his last season, which was pretty boring.

The football under Lenny was horrible for most of the time. People really do have selected memories.

    I completely disagree.

And it was night and day from Ronnys horrific idea of football. I could count on one hand the amount of enjoyable games this season and that is shocking.

    Funny old game....

For me the football under Lennon was pretty consistently good. Under Deila it's been very poor barring a few months to the tail end of last season when it was looking very good. I would probably liken it with Strachan's football but without the success that came with it.

I thought we were good when Lenny first took over and for the most part in 2011/12. Since then I thought we were lacklustre and boring to watch domestically 90% of the time. Hooper and Commons saved our arses like Griffiths has been this season.

Your right about this season too. We've been largely gash, but I'd actually liken the football we've seen from this season to Lenny's in his last 2. Unimaginative and sideways.

We can resurrect the threads no bother, it's a fact.

The same stuff was being said of Lennon's football for a large chunk of his time in charge and the abuse Strachan got for his brand of football was frightening, makes the stuff being levelled at Deila just now look like child's play.
