Donegal were in last years minor final but before that it was 2006 and before that 1999. 2 minor finals in the 2000s and 8 senior finals. An example of little underage sucess reversed into a successful senior team.

Theres probably 5 counties who are the reverse I can think of.

Its definately attitude and application after minor stage.

I guess McGeeney wanted to test his theory that Dublin's physicality was way above Donegal's...:56:

I would rather see 1st and 2nd qualify. If they wanted you could run a B comp for the 3rd and 4th place teams. Group winners would have no competitive games while the 2nd and 3rd teams played off. All teams should play a similar number of games.

It is however an improvement on the current system and would make the league more competitive.

I take it you mean that Dublin will play their away games at Croke Park.

Yeah I'd imagine they might leave it to the Semis if they where to do two legs couldn't imagine to many county's going all the way to Dublin twice in a week unless it was a Semi doubt they'll change anything though

I would love to see the Dubs have to play a knockout game up in Ulster. In a fair system an away game should be played away. Even if the GAA were to get the go ahead to develop Casement park the Ulster teams could use it or Clones as a home venue against Dublin.

Yea but they wouldn't get as much money which is the important thing for the GAA don't think I've ever heard anybody defending playing every game at Croker from a sporting aspect regardless of where we play I'd say if it was a big big match anywhere in country we could probably bring around 20-30k people

Semple Stadium holds 53k and if Casement were redeveloped to a similar capacity then we would have alternate venues for Dublin to play away from home. Playing the semis and finals at Croke Park should not be changed.

Even the earlier rounds we can get 40-50k going to the Leinster quarter finals the gaa won't ever change it until people stop going to the games ,it wasn't that long ago people used to call playing all are games in Croker a disadvantage :smiley-laughing002:

What people? Dubs looking for an excuse for not winning probably:smiley-laughing002: I cant see any reason for a team from any of the other provinces feeling that they have an advantage having to travel to Dublin to play Dublin.

If priority for tickets were given to those who attended league games then maybe an increased league attendance would make up for the shortfall. putting other teams at a disadvantage for the glory hunters should not be the GAAs priority. When the Dubs start to loose many of these "fans" will be more interested in Liverpool and co. playing pre season friendlies.

And Dublin should be getting 40,000 at least for their home games,so they do not deserve a pat on the back when they do.

I was pretty disappointed with the quality of both games, in particular the Cork/Clare one. Must've been a combined 60 wides or more. Shocking.
