I don't/didn't find either of them frustrating TBH. I get frustrated by players like Palma or players like Ntcham.

Maeda for me

Sammy because you knew the ability was there. He had bursts of genius where he was basically unplayable. Maeda has bursts of speed and little else.
-
Samaras, simply because technically he was far superior so should have been better week in, week out.
Maeda is more frustrating because he's so pish at certain things. If he had the talent of Sammy he would be absolutely top drawer, with his pace, work rate and being a bit more solid. -
Neither.
Dziekanowski by a mile, brilliant but lazy as *. -
I find Abada more frustrating than Maeda tbh. Probably because you more or less know what you're gonna get from Daizen, but Abada can be electric against the Huns one week and then absolutely rank rotten against any other SPL side the next.
To be fair to him he's still young (and obviously the current situation won't be helping) but last season especially he was really frustrating. It was a regular pattern that Ange would bring him on in the second half and he'd score or make a real impact, only to then start the next match and go completely missing.Last edited: Feb 11, 2024Mr Shelby likes this. -
Samaras as he had all the ability in the world when he fancied it where as Maeda just doesn't have the ability

Sammy. He had the ability to absolutely destroy teams and did so when it was needed generally, in the big games, big moments. He didn’t have the concentration, application or heart for the grind weekend, midweek weekend consistently high standards always on.
Maeda for me, always effects every game he’s playing, and its his erratic on the ball ability that is frustrating but I’ve developed an almost zen like immunity from it now, due to just the sheer * work and chaos he causes with his movement, closing down, pressure and superhuman * fitness.
And he has a knack of when my zen * breaks, and I lose the plot, he does something I don’t think he has the ability to do - his sitter against Hibs, followed by skinning 2 guys and a belter of a finessed finish just after it is the epitome of a Maeda momentNakamuraTastic likes this. -

Sammy was the most frustrating, on his game the guy was brilliant, the problem was he could only turn it on now and then, what a skilled player.
Maeda is a phenomenal athlete but a poor footballer, he has the touch of an elephant but an amazing work ethic, pity his touch is so bad. -
Samaras, because we knew when he was on it, he was unbelievable good.
He wasn't frustrating in his own ability either, it was quite literally the opposition setting up so defensively that screwed him.
Which means, for me, it makes Sammy the more frustrating as we knew how good he could be, given the right opposition.
Maeda just isn't very good as a wide player. At all.
His good moments seem to come out of luck or good fortune, rather than his ability actually being good.
Maeda is just annoying and I'd drop out the team completely.
Samaras I'd have in the side more.
If any of that makes sense.
Sammy, more frustrating because we knew he was the better player.

Samaras.
With him it was frustrating because he knew he had another level or so in him. Would * love to have him right now.
With Maeda I know he's jobbies.Rydo1888* and FrankMcCallum like this. -

I put Sammy and I absolutely loved him :56:Maeda is different. At the very least he pulls players all over the place.
