    Not an Irish surname.

McManaman I have not heard of but might be a bastardised version of an Irish name. McAleny likely = Mcelhinney McEveley I have not heard of

McEveley was capped by Scotland so that probably solves that and was mcmanaman not a rangers man same as Robbie fowler..

    Not right wing, just xenophobic.

There's no religious element in Liverpool. (I'm from Liverpool). All rivalry comes is a purely football one, only hatred is for Manc's, and a lot of hatred for Chelsea, particularly for their plastic right winged 'fans'.

    * me I agree with you on something! kind of.... It does kind of more beliefs than religion though

If you want to put it that way one end of the kop used to chant celtic and the other rangers liverpool is easily accessible from across the water and as people says the Irish population in Liverpool is big!

Yes Everton have a catholic background but if people are insisting liverpool are a Hun club because they have loyalists amoungst there support is * madness!

If they are that much of a Hun club why is it only half celtic Liverpool scarfs you see? Yes Everton have a fondness also...

Even the rivalry between both Everton and Liverpool isn't as bad as people
Make it out to be !

Been over this before Liverpool has the biggest orange walk outside the Six Counties and Glasgow, and from what I've witnessed the vast majority are Liverpool fans, and Liverpool probably is as close with a religious divide down South as youl get

Aye but tbf how many questions did you get in before they got chance to ask you one ?

    Favourite soap ?
How often do you wash your feet ?
What time you having Christmas dinner ?
What is your favourite name for a pineapple ?

Was probably the only question they had left by the time you were finished. :smiley-laughing002:

Sure I've read this but can't remember for sure.

As far as I can remember I've always quite liked both the Merseyside clubs. Especially Everton.

Lived in Liverpool for 4 years, home in Ireland about 2 years now and anyone who says Liverpool is a Hun club is just wrong!
When Celtic were playing, many pubs would be full of Liverpool and Everton fans and they would be cheering on Celtic when we played Oldco
The Irish Community in the city obvs helps this but I had nothing but positive reactions from 99% of people (of course there will be the odd *, but sure they are everywhere)

Not once in my life, and having gone to Anfield every match for 7 years has anything religious been talked about. Everton and Liverpool are both neither protestant/catholic clubs. There is NO religious element at all.

There does seem to be quite a liking for Celtic though, (like myself).

It has a history of religious trouble in Liverpool but it's not like that anymore it used to be like Glasgow as it had a high amount of Irish immigrants from the North both Catholic and Protestant settled in Liverpool. Both clubs fans claim to be the Protestant club but even with Liverpool FC history and the Orange tag they have I would say they have more Catholics supporting them than Everton do. Everton being "right-wing" is * as well they had some racist incidents in the 80's early 90's but even anti-racist clubs like Celtic did unfortunately Walters etc. I have always liked Everton as club I can't say the same about red side of Liverpool who I think give scousers a bad name.

Living around this area I can say I'm always well respected and treated when I wear my Celtic top or jacket around Liverpool, it is the Irish connection with Liverpool, Everton though I'm not so sure maybe its the fact Moyes played for us
