I reckon the SPL Title should be our No 1 target this year, for a manager
and his coaching staff who are still going through a transitional period assessing the players, working on the tactics, and preparing the transfer targets and exits, and generally getting their feet under the table, and having the heartbeat of the club and fans. That will take some time, and in January
we should have a much clearer indication of Mowbray's vision for the team and how he wants it to perform on the field.
That being said, I think we should be prepared if necessary to sacrifice the Europa League this year in view of all this, and concentrate on winning back the league as our main objective.Do that and then Mowbray, Grant and Venus can consider themselves a success in my opinion.

The league is the priority, the entire club has stated that from top to bottom.
-
I can already see evidence that Mowbray is getting his tactics together game by game. If we can cut out the silly errors and get our strikers scoring then we will romp the league this season. No question. -
The League already IS the number one priority. Tony Mowbray has basically said as much.
-
we are still in europe only cos its a league format...we got pick pocketed out of the league cup.....so theres the scottish cup or the league left. mmmmm aye the leagues the priority......also the sky's blue and waters wet......and if yer maw had a * ye'd be callin her da.

As teams down south have shown, they are willing to forgo progression in the UEFA/Europa League, in order to focus on domestic affairs, I think, for this season ONLY, we must do likewise. Use the remaining 3 games to give some fringe & younger players some European exposure, which may prove beneficial down the track, and concentrate on the league. -

The league is always priorty in my book ,Europe doesnt come close to winning the SPL thats what you play for every week and the bonus is Europe.

I would throw the Scottish Cup in there aswel, tis always nice to see Celtic at Hampden at the end of the year :icon_mrgreen: & after all we do have the record for winning it the most, so lets add to it if we can, & hopefully get a double winning season

Of course it is :97::rolleyes:

Mhogga is already showing concrete signs of getting the team to do that, and off course he needs to sign more of his identified players in January to put his indelible stamp and authority on the team and squad. Being four points ahead in the league at this moment in time is also a comfortable cushion to build on.
The players he has introduced to the team already, Fox, Fortune and N'Guemo have already made a sizeable impact to the team IMO, so if he can produce more players of that caliber into the team in January, we should see an even more marked improvementLast edited by a moderator: Nov 2, 2009 -

I think were basically already out of the Europa League and were out of the League Cup..so it's pretty obvious..I really think Mogga would have to really mess things up to not win the league with Rangers in chaos.

i cant see us progressing in europe & i really couldn't care less, the league is always the no 1 priority. the Scottish cup would be nice too.

I've been saying this since before the season started.
Yes we would like to do well in the europa league but it's not a big deal if we don't. As long as we win the league we'll be in the Champions League next year while Rangers will struggle due to the change in format of the qualifying.
We're unlucky to be out of the League Cup as we pummelled hearts and should have won comfortably but again it's not a big deal as long as we win the league. -

In my opinion we are the more successful team simply because we have the Big one in the trophy cabinet and if we could have sat the Uefa cup next to it would have been a dream as we may never get the chance again. -

Winning the SPL should be our no1 priority every season anything else we get ie. good run in Europe is just a bonus....Lets be honest guys/girls we are never gonna win the Champs League and a think it will be a few years before we are even competing in the Europa League.
