I'm sure I read about this ages ago. If the Record are struggling with the term "news" there's a clue in the first 3 letters.

I work for HMRC. I believe it to be in relation to the film companies investment schemes which were brought in to stimulate the industry, but ended up being abused for tax purposes. A few from the MoN era are reputated to have participated in these. All personal arrangements though, nothing to do with Celtic.

our legal team should be on to these muppets for any sort of sleaze allegation being associated with our Club. I really want to see a proper RES 12 fund put together to properly go after this cretins.

It is vital that celtic fans DO NOT Particpate in the continiuty myth.

there are a few valid film productions using some of these tax incentive right off's. I have worked on a few. Its usually low budget personal story british films. Private equity money sort of thing, combined with film fund money.

it was a useful way of getting some of the smaller less commercial films off the ground, unfortunately some * have exploited it.

    Just as a wee aside..

On the train to Glasgow on Tuesday night, my old man (Falkirk fan) mentioned he no longer buys the Daily Record because there was 16 pages dedicated to the Zombies triumphant return to the top table.

He said "Can you imagine the * they'd print if Rangers win on Sunday, they'll probably be demanding knighthoods".

I worked in the TV/film industry at the time and there was loads of work kicking about, so yeah, there was definitely valid productions at the time. Mostly a lot of * but still. Probably talking nearly ten year ago now.

I remember reminiscing with a cameraman about it last year because work up here basically dried up for a few years after HMRC decided to go after these 'schemes'. He called them glorious years, practically guaranteed work all year round. Now most tv/film folk are working on Outlander or River City at the moment with a few BBC productions here and there, Comedy Unit etc. Definitely not as busy as it once was.

    Let's see where this goes.

None of the accusations I've read so far actually have anything to do with how Celtic conducted their business.

It appears that some people may have had personal schemes set up externally.

If they've been avoiding tax and it has been deemed illegal, it still has NOTHING to do with Celtic.

We're not getting dragged into their hole of avoiding paying tax to help pay higher wages for better players.

yeah its a shame people abused the funding schemes as there is not the same level of work in Scotland as there is in even Wales or South west england.
