You honestly think we can't beat Moldova and Wales?

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
I think Ireland will without doubt beat Moldova,i think the shackles will at last be off for that one, then a huge match v Wales.Wales will of course be the strong favourites but it will have a knockout Cup Tie strong feel about it and anything can happen in those games.

I think it's a toss up. Wales & Ireland are more than capable of beating each other. Depends who handles the pressure best.
I naturally side with Wales being born here but if Ireland get there I'll support the country of my mothers birth, no problem. :celt_2:

Even if we do, it is doubtful to be enough. We might finish second, but we would most likely be the worst ranked second-placed team.

Fair play! There is a smugness that has crept into some of your fans that I don't like though. It certainly wasn't there when I went to watch Wrexham at Wembley!

Not according to St Pauli. Maybe we should send out an SOS for ILTC to clear things up

TBH we've got * all to be smug about.
Perennial underachievers & pretty much the nearly men of getting to any major tournament, bar the last one.
The team is half decent at the moment & there are at least three exceptional youngsters coming through the ranks, FA England have just set up an U15 team to counter Wales' long established U15 team 'hoovering up' duo- nationality boys on the borders.

We all know that MON is more than capable of pulling off a result in Cardiff. He just is! Wales supporters are fools if they think it is nailed on.
Wrexham fans more than most know how quickly a team can fall....

Even a win in Cardiff is unlikely to be enough. We would still need results in other groups to be enough.

This is the current second place table

    Ranking of runners-up

    Pos Grp Team
Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts Qualification
    1
    B [IMG] Portugal 6 5 0 1 21 3 +18 15 Advance to second round (play-offs)
    2 C [IMG] Northern Ireland 6 4 1 1 9 2 +7 13
    3 G [IMG] Italy 6 4 1 1 10 7 +3 13
    4 I [IMG] Iceland 7 4 1 2 9 6 +3 13
    5 F [IMG] Slovakia 7 4 0 3 11 5 +6 12
    6 A [IMG] Sweden 6 3 1 2 10 7 +3 10
    7 E [IMG] Montenegro 6 3 1 2 10 7 +3 10
    8 H [IMG] Bosnia and Herzegovina 6 2 2 2 10 8 +2 8
    9 D [IMG] Wales 6 1 5 0 6 5 +1 8

Results against the bottom team don't count assuming that is Moldova Ireland currently have 10 points so beating Wales would leave us with 13 points. Like I say for Bosnia for a start to top that they would have to beat Belgium. If Moldova actually don't come bottom then assuming Ireland beat them at home we would actually have 15 points and be in an even better position. I think winning the last two games will mean the playoffs.

We need Belguim to treat the match as more than a friendly. Either way we will know before we take on Wales

Our team is gone to absolute dirt.. but the day I consider a game against Wales unwinnable will never come.

Just seen Ireland have enquired about Greg Doherty after he didn't get called up to our u21's.

Be interesting to see if he takes it. One of the biggest Huns you'll ever meet.

I've always known I was eligible for Ireland but if they are sniffing about me then that is very flattering," said the Accies ace.

"I spent a lot of time as a child in Ireland and I've got plenty of relatives over there. That half of the family would be happy if I chose to play for them.

"But whether it ever comes to that I don't know. There's been no official approach to me at this moment in time.

    Strange kind of hun
