His gf had a miscarriage at the time, he didn't go the right way about saying he needed to go home, but he certainly had a very good reason to be allowed to

Just very recently though, after a revamp and a letting go of the old guard.

They're a team too watch out for in the future but they are not yet the force they have been since 98.

Italy have been great since the new manager came in. He has completely changed the 'Italian Style'.

The onus is now on attack, rather than the typical hard to beat defensive style.

Attack? We have nothing to worry about so... most of their strikers are washed up 30 year olds.

They never play with wingers either.

I am confident we'll beat Croatia and Italy at the EURO's, bold and arrogant i know, but i am confident.

I never want to see Stephen Ireland in the green jersey. He's had plenty of time to make amends, meanwhile all he's done is add fuel to the fire. Disrespectful arrogant * :50:

I take it you haven't watched italy in a while either?

Also Robbie Keane is now the definition of a washed up 30 something.

Still a * good player though.

Guiseppe Rossi is out for the tournament I believe, which should help us.

Pazzini, Giovinco, Borini, Osvaldo, Balotelli? :39:

Better than anything Ireland have to offer. That's for sure.

Then you have the "Washed up 30(34) year old" Di Natale, who has scored 78 goals in his last 103 league games. Anything but washed up.

A midfield consisting of guys like De Rossi, Marchisio, Pirlo etc is hood enough to dominate any team on their day.

Defensively, well, they are Italy. Goalkeeper? None other than Buffon.

Of course Ireland could pull it off, but your severely under rating the Azzurri. Hope Ireland can pull it off. :celt_2:

Buffon, Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Grosso, Brighi, De Rossi, Pirlo, Pepe, Pazzini, Iaquinta

We got a draw in Italy against this lineup under Trap.

Buffon, Zambrotta, Chiellini, Legrottaglie, Grosso, Camoranesi, Palombo, Pirlo, De Rossi, Iaquinta, Di Natale.

Narrowly missed out on a (deserved) win against this one.

No reason we can't do as much if not more this time :celt_2:

Why do people keep forgetting the most recent game against the azzurri when we beat them 2-0 with a second side?

    Forde
    McShane-St Ledger-O'Dea-Ward
    Coleman-Foley-Andrews-Hunt
    Keogh-Long

    Viviano
    Cassani-Gamberini-Chiellini-Criscito
    Pirlo
    Marchisio-Nocerino-Montolivo
    Rossi-Pazzini

If Trap can beat that Italy side with those players then im very confident. :86:

Italy aren't unbeatable but writing them off is silly.

I could not agree with you more Cathairbhoy. If he had come out and said sorry I messed up but I was under a lot of stress then fair enough. But no he lied kept up the lies and has shown nothing but disrespect and contempt for the green jersey since.

Exactly. I hope ireland beat them but to say they will beat them because they won a meaningless game against them is crazy.

    +1.
Only reason I like to see his Irish shirt is because "Ireland" is written on the top.

Ireland would be far better off without the likes of Stephen Ireland, good footballer or not.
