No not winding anyone up, being truthful the group is to hard for Ireland they aren't better than Croatia Spain or Italy.

We've drew against Italy the last two times we've played them. In our last game, we were harshly denied a victory when they equalised in the 90th minute. They're not better than us.

Nor can you say the Croatians really are, either. Both of those two teams are at our level and I'd be confident of us taking a result off them. Hard, but not too hard.

*, I'd be even reasonably confident against the Spanish. They dominate possession, that's their greatest skill. But we're so used to being without the ball, I don't think we'd struggle as badly as other sides. It'd be fairly similar to the France games, in my eyes. Also, with their relaxed and slow pace, we could comfortably contain them for the 90 minutes.

Anyway, words are wind. Can't wait for the Euro's. I'm sure we'll get 4 or 5 points...hardly anything. A victory in our opening group could really be decisive.

Overrating Ireland a bit here Italy have a habit of playing badly but winning they've done it for years. As for croatia modric kranjcar srna petric olic they have the better players both ams will be favourites against ireland and rightly so. Spain forget them they are another planet I hope ireland can sneak 2nd but I can't see it tbh.

I seriously think we can get out of this group. We can beat Italy. *, last time we played them we led twice, conceding in the 91st minute. Infact, we will beat Italy. Croatia are more of a worry IMO. They have a few quality players, and keeping Jellyfish quiet could be hard, but I think a point from that game will be enough.

For the record, I'm just assuming Spain beat everyone.

    Could go something like this:

    Spain 3 Italy 1
    Ireland 1 Croatia 0

    Italy 1 Croatia 1
    Spain 0 Ireland 0

    Croatia 0 Spain 2
    Italy 0 Ireland 1

    Spain 9 pts
    Ireland 7 pts
    Italy 3 pts
    Croatia 0 pts

    :icon_mrgreen: I see Italy struggling...

Italy have a great balanced midfield pirlo marchisio nocerino and de rossi solid at the back as well then you have pazzini, gilardino di natalie and maybe balotelli to worry about.

In our last game against Italy we beat them with a second string side.

Kris dont underestimate the Trap factor!! He is a boring * but he knows how to get results!

Change that 'Ireland 0-0 Spain' to a 1-0 Spain win, and you may be spot on. :50:

Reckon we're predisposed to contain Spain more than most countries in the world.

I hate his football style, but in this setting, in Trap I trust. Genius for the big stage.

Uruguay are currently ranked 3rd. Portugal are 5th. England are 7th, and consistently high placed.

Point is, the rankings are misleading. Italy, France and Russia have all tried their arm against us over the last few years and found us hard to beat. We're the strongest underdog in the competition, I feel.

Uruguay won copa america and got to the semis of the last world cup? Portugal always get to the quarters/semis in tournaments since I've watched international football. Englands one is a joke though.

cant wait for the euroes, I dont reckon we will qualify unless we win against croatia, then 2 draws should see us through, I just hope trap plays mccarthy, mclean and clark, I dont want whelan or hunt starting

Well, McCarthy has ruled himself out for family reasons as his Dad has been diagnosed with cancer.

Clark missed most of the season with Villa, so he's not even on standby.

Hope to see a few cameos from young McLean, though. :celt_2:

They could have quite a good team if they played some of their "footballers" instead of some of the ones who play.

    Given
    Coleman Dunne Wilson Clark
    McGeady McCarthy Gibson McClean
    Ireland
    Keane

Haha. I think when I got down to it, common sense wanted me to put them on top. No one to beat them...certainly not Ireland tieing on points. :56:

To be fair Stephen Ireland not being in the team cannot be laid at Traps door. The player hmself is too blame given his previous lies and periodic disrespectful and arrogant comments about the national team.

    Uruguay deserve to be 3rd.

Italy and France aren't the forces they once were.
