The Hobbit

Discussion in 'TC Media' started by Officer Doofy, Dec 4, 2012.

  1. 3 films from it is quite clearly ripping the *

Some people just hate fantasy, myself included.

  2. Fair enough but the quote from mitchell is OTT and a bit attention seeking.

  3. From the sounds of it they should have kept it at two movies rather than the three. Expecting some rather longish dull periods when I go to see it.

  4. Going to see it on Friday, can't wait :icon_mrgreen: but there will surely be a lot of padding out because of the ridiculous decision to make it into a trilogy. Ah well, it'll still be brilliant :icon_mrgreen:

  5. Thanks for the correction, kind of still have the same opinion though, loved the books, loved the films, will like the Hobbit even though i haven't seen it yet, hopefully sometime over the weekend.

  6. Going watching tomorrow night ..Eldest daughter is treating me :50: 3D VIP seats too ..splashing out :icon_mrgreen:

  7. Went to see it earlier...

....* excellent film! Had really high hopes and it totally paid off:icon_mrgreen:

Funny, lots of action, drama and just the atmosphere is phenomenal altogether. Hard to compare to LOTR as only one film has been released so far, although even though you knew it was a prequel to LOTR, they were completely different.

For me, 10/10 (I just love these films), highly recommend it to anyone:50:

  8. Just back and the above just sums it up for me .....Gollums riddle game cracked me up :smiley-laughing002:

  9. Went last night with the girlfriend and i think we both nearly came when the riddles in the dark part came up. On a serious note we geeked out about it for the rest of the night.

Thought it was suitably dark and also quite funny in places. The 3d was great and as sean said you knew it was a prequel but didnt feel like it at all. All in all it was a cracking film!

  10. Absoloutely amazing. The only time I've ever had high expectations for a movie and it has actually payed off, LOTR was my childhood and I waited just under 10 years for this and it blew me away. Still two to more fims to go makes it all the better, have to say its not as similar to LOTR as I assumed it would be but it really worked. Peter Jackson does it once again, the riddles in the dark seen was just brilliant, forgot how much I missed Gollum on the big screen :50:

  11. I enjoyed it the bird moaned it was too long lol

  12. Thought it was brilliant

  13. I liked it, but it was way too much animations and all these fighting scenes where there always is someone hanging out of a cliff cliches are a bit dull....

  14. Im looking foeard to when it comes on dvd, watched it in 3d and that ruines it a bit

  15. Excellent film. Thought it was better than LOTR. Bit more humour as well and the Dwarf song was cOOl as.

  16. Loved the stone giants fight

  17. Before I seen it I had this worry, but it actually turned out to be fantastic. I think a lot of book/movies tend to make better books because the film skips over a lot of important detail but you don't get that here. It was maybe a wee bit slow to get going but it did not feel over done at all.

One of the best films of the year for me.

  18. That was the same with me. Felt it would be overdone and destroy the experience thought there were doing a ''star wars'' on it. But not a chance. It was fantastic.

  19. Just came back from the movies and thought it was good. Not quite as good as the famous LOTR parts though.
