I'm glad we've got decent exciting teams to play against as it means a sell out crowd for 3 games and I get to keep my seat in the jock stein upper, but I'm not confident at all, think we will get pumped by Ajax and Fenerbace. Molde we might beat at home. Our defence * frightens me as it is never mind without Van Dijk.

 

* all of those teams ! Lets get behind the Hoops and roar them to victory and hopefully by some miracle Malmo finish 3rd and we get them in the knock out round.

Undoubtedly a better draw than last year, hopefully we can get out the group but think it will be tough.

Opening 2 games will be pivotal, need to start the competition well.

 

We'll do well to be over 30,000 for Molde!

 

Think the 3 match package is a good deal and should ensure a good crowd for that game, obviosusly how we start the competition and domestic form will dictate the attendance as well.

 

Molde are not an attractive opponent stature wise but more importantly, the game is a 6pm kick off.

Yep but if the early kick off scuppers you workwise which it will do for a good number I'd imagine as well as folk from down South, Ireland etc, then you're not going to be buying a three match package!

Where do teams like Fenerbache get the money to buy players like Van Persie and Nani?

They get less crowds than us. Is their TV deal any good?

 

Compared to us they get good money, overall standard of the league is different class and its competitive at the top.

I just checked out stock market data.. Fenerbahçe has stadium, advertising, fifa, uefa, broadcast and shirts and other stuff sales from the fenerium company is 100 million dollars. Plus 9 million dollars stadium name, 4 million dollars domestic games shirt advertisement, foreign games with yandex and approximately more than 15 million dollars is expected.. The club is rich because of the financial management..

 

TV money will be much higher from Turkish broadcasters probably in the tens of millions for the big clubs in the league, they have like a population of 80 million. That is why they can spend more money than us even though probably operationally we will bring in a bit more.
