Nowhere near as overwhelming as any Celtic fan who wants that lot to survive. A club who has anti-Catholic and anti-Irish sentiment at it's very core. A club who had their boot on our throat throughout the 90's, they didn't give a * whether we lived or died. They didn't have any concern about the future of Scottish football, they sure as * didn't want or need a "strong Celtic". Their support is up to their knees in our blood, they've tried to kill and maim our manager, they've told us to go home, they've constantly mocked the likes of Tommy Burns, Johnny Doyle and Scott Brown's sister, and the most galling thing of all - they've dragged Jock Stein's name through the mud in a sickening attempt to smear his good name, their obsession with child abuse is just vile and without even going into all the things I've mentioned before that is the reason I want them gone, and gone for good.

You can feel free to lament their passing, or to try and hang on to their coat tails but I'll be dancing on their grave with immense joy. I'll be joining the party, and you won't see a single ounce of sympathy from me.

    Die die die ya huns.

Hang on to their coat tails? What are you on about? :97:

I'm talking about the effect that Rangers going out of business will have on us. I don't care for their history, their future or their fans.

The truth is though, them not being around will affect us negatively. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

I agree with you Daibhi, i want to see Rangers punished and struggle, but i do not want to see them disappear altogether. A lot of fans are talking through the heart on this one, i think we need to bypass that and think about the consequences in more detail. Rangers disappearing will not make the league suddenly get so much better, the opposite in fact will occur, i can see the standard dropping to League of Ireland levels with one really big fish (Celtic) in a very small pond.

Yeah I'm talking from the heart but for now I am simply going to celebrate. Not our fault they overspent money that was not theirs, and they fully deserve whatever is coming to them.

Celtic have lost a number of closely run league titles due to the fact that Rangers have been fielding expensive players that they have bought immorally with our taxes.

Serves them right, and the same goes for any other teams that operate this way.

If i could use boxing as an analogy,

i'd much rather punish them for 12 rounds than knock them out in the first :icon_mrgreen:

This goes beyond football - society as a whole will be better off when that poisonous institution ceases to exist.

Don’t forget it was they – with their exploitation of sectarian/racial hostility – who polluted the Scottish game in the first place.

While Celtic were off dominating Europe with Catholics and Protestants in their squad, Rangers were content to be second best as long as they could maintain some level of relevance by infamously celebrating an apartheid, employment policy.

The principal reason for their existence was to be the antithesis of what they perceived Celtic to be… i.e 'the kafflicks', 'the taigs', 'the fenyuns'.

Wow, some claim to fame: anti-Irish and anti-Catholic bigotry.

(Oh and don’t forget the charming, far-right British jingoism and the ever so dignified neo-* hooliganism)

What a wonderful history. Don’t you just cringe when you hear them on SSN referring back to this 'illustrious' past?

And of course, when they were finally dragged kicking and screaming into modern civilization, they desperately tried to buy their way out of our shadow – using a variety of illegal methods in the process – only for these vain efforts to culminate in their impending demise. LOL!

So as you can probably imagine – all things considered - I’d be absolutely devastated if they went bust.

Which is why i want them severely punished and embarrassed for as long as there is a Rangers, them going completely bust as The Prof so eloquently put it would be short and sweet, i would much rather it be a long lasting triumph.

Exactly. I'd love to see them lose their top players, get banned from Europe and for us to put a real beating on them every time we play them, not to mention see them drop down the table below other clubs.

An investigation surely has to take place into the honours won during that time period where they were basically cheating?

Unlikely the SFA or SPL will initiate that one. All depends on the outcome of the HMRC decision anyway but in my opinion an investigation should be demanded by all clubs.

Not really the t.v money is pennies in the SPL not worth boasting about .. Even the money for winning it is awful! The only decent thing is the Champions League spot.

You're the one that wants them to survive. That's what I'm talking about.

Any Tim who wants them to survive needs their head checked, IMO.

    I've outlined numerous reasons why.

    Die die die ya huns.

In your heart of hearts, you know Rangers will survive. The taxman may have chased them over the hill, but they will be back.

We want them to survive because it'll benefit us in the long term. Check the reasons I posted as to why I want Rangers to survive in some form in the SPL. Give me a counter-argument if you can to my points.

Oh, and it has to be something more insightful than "die die die ya huns".

Rangers FC will die as liquidation is inevitable IMO.

They'll appear under a different guise after liquidation, Glasgow Rangers 1690 something or other, of course they will.
