Think McGregor will be an important player for us next season.

It will certainly be very interesting to see how he does next season. Outside of the obvious in Tierney and Griffiths I thought McGregor albeit at a much more quiet level was one of the few players this season who enhanced his reputation. Had a very decent season.

I think Mcgregor, GMS, Allan, Rogic and Armstrong are all good players. But I'm not sure they are ever going to really live up to the demands of this club. Now that Brendan is here, I wouldn't mind in the slightest to see a completely new midfield next season. Rogic had a great year but I just dont see him being the catalyst we'll need in the CL group stage. We need 4-5 guys who can continually be called on to win a game, rather then 9-10 decent rotation players. Would rather pay Russell, Bannan, and Snodgrass 25-30k each then pay the rest 10-15k and have mediocre return. It will be interesting to see who of the current crop stay or go...

Going to be a clearout but i think we need a larger squad to work on both fronts: domestically and European.

After having a good in depth read up of Rodgers tactics at both Swansea and Liverpool , as well as some of his ideas about the types of players he likes to have in midfield i would seriously struggle to see Scott Brown or Stefan Johansen getting game time now. Possession is everything to him and he likes technical, ball playing midfielders - normally a deep lying playmaker that can pass under pressure and keep possession in tight situations . Another a more advanced midfielder who will supplement the three attackers and weigh in with goals (Frank Lampard basically ). Brown and Johansen to me are workhorses and sluggers who both have bad distribution at times and can not keep it under pressure to the level the new manager will want.

I can see Callum Mcgregor having all the attributes to play in a Brendan Rodgers team , think he could really excel under him in a 4-3-3 system . Nir Biton if he can find form could do well again here . Could Rogic be that man to be the attacking threat from midfield , making late runs and weighing in with goals and assists ? Potentially . Then there's Christie who could well impress.

Scott Brown and Johansen may be surprising casualties of the new regime.

As for "strikers " , Leigh griffiths will rightly be the main man through the middle . Two inverted wingers/attackers will be deployed to essentially make it a front three . One of those will be Patrick Roberts who is tailor made to play in this system on the right cutting in on to his left peg. GMS may offer competition/back up there. I could see him going into the market to find somebody to play on the left who can cut in onto a good right foot . Scott Allan may get the chance but his athleticism is questionable . Anthony Stokes is probably the squad member best equipped to play there.

    Roberts Griffiths Stokes ?

As for CKR and Carlton Cole , I don't see any future for them here . CKR on the right maybe but i don't see it . "Target men " wont have a place in this side , just ask Andy Carroll how he got on under BR.

So I'm reading that we have already cleared out:

    Scepovic
    Cole
    Forrest
    Derk (* finally)

Any more news on who's next to go? Not sure who's due to go out of contract and supposedly Izzy is staying?

    Would like to see go:

    Stokes
    Efe
Johansen/Biton (one or the other, preferably Stefan)
    Mulgrew
    Ciftci

Should free up enough wages to get a couple of decent players in. If a bigger revamp is needed then add into the mix CKR, GMS and Commons leaving then that's a lot of wages being saved and more opportunity for places in the team for the younger lads.

Armstrong (although played out of position) isn't Celtic class - Sell

    Stokes - Sell

    Efe - Sell/Release

Stefan - year left on his contract, any decent offer sell

Rogic - if he's not signing the contract extension sell to recoup something and free up space in the squad

Bitton - anything north of £5 million, sell

CKR - does not fit Rodgers style whatsoever, punt if possible

Commons - on substantial wages, if Rodgers doesn't see him playing a key part in his team, move on

    Forrest - sell

Henderson - another loan deal, isn't going to play regularly enough

Christie - probable loan deal required as well. Pointless hauling him back from ICT in January to sit him on the bench. He looks like a good wee player, needs game time to keep progressing

How can anyone want rid of mulgrew ?? At the moment he's a starter alongside erik. Even if we get another CB in we NEED Mulgrew for cover

Out with the old, in with the new. Mulgrew is a decent CB but he's been found out in Europe more than enough times to say he isn't good enough for that level. Good SPFL player but I wouldn't go into the CL groups with Mulgrew starting

Blackett (if still here? * knows)
    Ambrose
    Armstrong
    GMS
    Commons
    Forrest
Johansen (if we can get a decent transfer fee for him but keep if not)
    Stokes
    Ciftci

Let Rodgers have a look at Henderson, if he thinks we do no need him this season, then we should look to loan him out again, maybe somewhere on the continent, * having him in championship for another season. Mulgrew is a better option than Boyata in my opinion, although if Simunovic is back fit (hopefully not another Derk), and he impresses then Mulgrew could be offloaded as well.

Obviously this is a * load of players but it frees up wages to let the new gaffer bring in his own signings.

I wouldn't go into the Champions League qualifiers with him starting either if given the option, but I certainly wouldn't bin him.

We need a strong squad, and he's a good squad player.

Agree 100% they know nothing about football....McGregor has been a revelation since coming back from his loan period....will be an important player for us next year and tbh I thing Rodgers will love him....he is the real deal IMO

I agree, of course Efe must be the first defender to leave, with Simunovic fit I think Mulgrew will find it harder to get games. Depends on what he wants and if Rodgers fancies him. I'm undecided on Boyata but he has to improve quickly to remain here.
