Would be glad to see an end to all these threads about him. He has some great ball skills and to some degree vision too but he appears to lack things like acceptable stamina, ability to fit into a normal system, being a team player etc. All the managers seem to think the same thing about him. Dont see a future for him other than the odd 10 minute cameo so if someone were to offer us 1 million or more for him I think we should let him go.

The most sensible post opposed from mine that I can sort of agree with so far.

However it can't be overlooked that each of the managers you mention never got rid of him either, which proves they understood his mercurial genius and hoped to find a way to let it flourish.

I wouldn't write him off just yet...

It really doesn't prove that at all.

What does it prove then, that they couldn't get rid of him?

You don't really believe that do you?

It doesn't prove anything. It may well be the case that they 'understood his mercurial genius and hoped to find a way to let it flourish' However it might be that no-one came in with an offer they felt was acceptable. Or maybe he was happy picking up his wages for doing very little work. 3 different conclusions made from the same piece of information.

My point is that what you claimed as proven, was actually an assumption made by you.

I doubt it is an "assumption" to be frank.

If three different managers didn't think he was good enough or had something to offer then he would have been off just like the multitude of players we have turned over in the last few years.

That he is still here and still making the bench leads me to believe that he obviously  has something (as if it's up for debate).

Anyway to get the topic back to whether McCourt still has a future; I think it will come down to him. I think it's been made clear since Lennon took over that McCourt will not be a first choice player so if he's happy making the odd cameo he'll stay but if he's looking to start every week he'd be better off looking elsewhere.
