I hope he doesn't leave, I think he's a really good natural talent, but if he isn't getting matches he'll probably leave.

respectfully, you're talking out your *.

i'd rather boost our coffers by £1m than have McCourt sitting as 5th/6th choice winger.

I have no idea why he hasn't had more of a chance as he seems to have it all. he's got fantastic balance, an eye for goal and contrary to what a lot of people think, a great footballing brain. Some of the passes he plays through to the strikers are jizzworthy. He fits the mould of a Celtic great just a pity he can't force his way into the team.

I'm not even sure it's a fitness issue because he's played plenty of 90 minutes and done a job for us, and his fitness would only improve with more game time.

I'm happy for him to stay as long as he is happy to stay because he is a great plan C when everything else has went * up.

...clearly he doesn't 'have it all'.

What does he not have then?

And try replying to all of my post not just the bits that suit you.

consistency and his all round game isn't good enough for a full 90 mins of football

No one can question his consistency as he hasn't had a long enough run to prove or disprove that.

And his all round game isn't good enough? Jeezo the lad has it all.

he got a run of games last year and only impressed a couple of times and I have only ever seen him play 1 outstanding pass and it was in a friendly .he lacks the same level of performance as the players in front of him and doesn't deserve to be starting games when you look at the level of performance's of the players in front of him

McCourt has shown more in his Celtic career than Sammy.

The bhoy can run, but that's all he can do.

He's like a toy footballer lol, you just wind him up, set him off and see what happens.

I don't particularly want to see him go, but we don't need him, he's about 6th choice midfielder, if that, so if we can get half a million or so for him this window, I would defo sell. Because he hasn't played much and is a bit of a novelty act though, i'd be very surprised if any1 wants to buy him.

Neither has Sammy bar 3 games in the last 15 months!

If Paddy was the one who had been doing what Sammy has done in the last couple of months then this thread would be about Sammy and everyone would be raving about Paddy.

    Football fans are so fickle.

For the record I am happy for both to stay and fight for a place but neither would be in my first 11... atm.

    Dear oh dear...

You don't really believe that do you? Because if you do you know nothing about football.

sammy has shown it for the last 2 months maybe you should take off your paddy tinted specs and actually watch the football and this is coming from 1 of sammy's biggest critics

I'd choose a fully fit Commons over a fully fit Paddy all day long. Kris showed at the start of last year just how good he is and managed to score in his first two derby games (one at CP and one at Mordor), not to mention some other vital goals before the end of the season. Paddy has never scored in a derby game, despite being here for about three or four years now.

He has only ever really showed mere glimpses of brilliance and just when it looks like he's going to get a decent run in the team, his fitness worries catch up with him and someone has to come into the side and replace him.

There's not much the manager can do for him when he's not keeping fit. Commons may be unfit right now, but his injury woes are nowhere near the level of McCourt's and he's actually due to the return to the squad next weekend, if I remember correctly.

lol McCourt has it all? are you being serious? he's 5th or 6th choice for a reason. he isn't good enough to become a first team regular in nearly four years under three different managers.

i don't mind him. i wouldn't mind him to stay as he's on cheap wages and offers something from the bench. but that's exactly what he is - a bench player. if he had it all he'd be first pick every week and be hounded by the elite clubs. he isn't because he ain't what some Celts crack him up to be.

i think he's cult status and his tricks seem to blind his obvious weaknesses and hence why he hasn't started for ages and may not get a game against the likes of Peterhead.

he's had his chance to shine in the hoops and hasn't done it for four years. with us having Samaras, Brown, Commons and Forrest ahead of him rightfully in the pecking order for the wing position leaves him where? then we'll have McGeouch knocking on the door soon. Lennon has shown that he would rather play Mulgrew, Ledley and even Stokes out of position than play McCourt on the wing as they're all better rounded footballers. that's six plays definitely ahead of him for the wings. if he ever dreamt of starting in the middle, he better wake up and apologise to Ki, Wanyama, Kayal and Ledley.

 I was wondering when that would make an appearance, I suppose you think I wear a guinness hat and a ginger beard and play BOTOB on the fiddle as well?

I don't have Paddy tinted specs, I just think the lad has it all in his locker to be a world class player and for whatever reason it isn't happening for him.

I have my thoughts on why this is but I'm not posting my thoughts on here as I've seen how fast stupid rumours can fly around the internet.

All of a sudden we don't need flair players coz the team are banging them in. A lot of short memories on here.
