Paddy McCourt will never get a regular game with Celtic.

With the username you have, you're hardly impartial are you? Put it this way, if McCourt was English, or from any other country in the world, he'd be long gone from Celtic Park.

He smokes like a * chimney and drinks like a fish, that's what I've heard anyway.

Only rumours that he smokes, but he's been at Celtic for 4 seasons now, and isn't fit enough to play consistently. I'm pretty sure if I was training at Celtic Park for 4 years I could be fit enough to play.

He has great vision and execution for a defence-splitting pass as well.

He's just a wonderfully talented footballer in my book, who - for some reason - Lenny seems to a have a problem with. What is the problem? Who knows. What was his problem with Juarez? Who knows. Lenny just sometimes seems to get an idée fixe in his head that the facts won't shift.

Sad state of affairs - I used to love seeing Paddy play - his contributions were often the highlight of the match for me. But honestly - for his own good - I think he should be considering going somewhere where his talents will be utilised and appreciated...

Could just be trying to keep the players he rates happy.

Nobody likes life on the bench, just a thought.

think he still can do a job for us and says a lot to hear the stands signing his name today!
as has been debated here about going back to three defenders, which i believe would have worked today in a game where we dominated but lacking something at the top end of the field, well in a certain formation like that he could be used as a great role behind the strikers and just tracking back to midfield imo

hope he stays and im not one of the mc court defenders on here,i just love watching the man on the ball, amazing talent

Wasn't Matthews just back from injury when he played on Wednesday night? Could be just resting him.

McCourt has had 3 different managers at Celtic, under none has he played consistently, there must be some reason why?

Think it is time that McCourt did move on. The guy is now, what 28? This should be he prime of his career & despite the cult status he has, think if he was ever going to make it as a 1st team regular it would have already happened.

Even being used as an impact player, there is no doubt he is a real mercurial talent but how often has he come on when the Hoops have been behind & actually changed the game. Most of his memorable moments have come when he has come on when we are already ahead, so is he really the impact player we need? Think for his own career & to do himself justice, it is time to move on.
