I agree thought we were lacklustre today and should certainly have used the full quota of subs when the team started tiring as well.

Still can't complain too much, we won and kept a clean sheet.

Not when you're 26/27 mate. Unless you've seriously let yourself go. :56:

not letting todays result fool me . were still looking average at best . we need at least one centre half , a forward and someone who can create a spark

:38: And we'd get beaten in midfield. 2 wingers was a disastrous experiment by Mowbray.

Can you really not see any problem with our performance today? We were passed off the pitch for 70 minutes today by a team we are supposed to be miles ahead of. On another day, (like last week), they would have been able to get a result. If you can see no problem with our performance today, you are completely lying to yourself.

It was disastrous for Mowbray cos he had someone crap in central midfield - Scott * Brown! :56:

Now we have Kayal and Ledley in the centre we are much more solid.

Anyway, neither Ledley nor Commons play as wingers, so the issue isn't really relevant to our current team?

i find it ridiculous that everyone is well on browns back!

    commons
    maj
    kayal

have all had poor starts but people are almost blaming brown for it.

brown is not making mistakes unlike a few others-especially in front of goal ie forrest and ki sitters today

the sooner yous all stop greeting about brown , the sooner you can enjoy your lives a bit more cos he aint goin anywhere, get used to it!

Good post. They've been waiting ages to pounce on the player after all his good displays both last season and against Dundee Utd a couple of weeks back. I find it quite amusing now tbh.

Did you ever think for a moment that we weren't in control and wouldn't win the match?

    Ermm... close.

He played 29 games for us that season, the great majority of them in the centre.

In a slight change from the norm :52: I'm not going to lambast him.

Yes I believe we can do better than such a limited footballer but he is at least providing energy when others around him aren't, particularly the last 3 games.

I would blame both Sion games entirely on Lennon, slightly apportioning some blame to Maj and I would blame the St Johnstone game on him as well slightly apportioning some of the blame for that game on Commons penalty miss.

Good point re: Commons penalty miss.

I think he's had a horrible horrible start to the season although can do no wrong in some peoples eyes. Has been rightly dropped.

tbh I disagree he always plays better when he is on the right, when he is on the left he seems afraid to attack his man with his incredible pace and usually passes off, but when he is on the right he is constantly going by the fullback. I thought he was lively on both flanks today but his best moments came in the last ten minutes when he was on the right.
Brown has done absolutely nothing this season and adds nothing to our team while forrest has been one of our better players, people say Brown stabalizes our midfield but that is a myth, Forrest ran himself into the ground today closing people down, I can't say the same about Brown.
Most big teams play two wingers against the inferior opposition in their league so I don't see why we can't, that result would have happened regardless of formation it was caused by the general malaise at the club not the formation we used. I would play Forrest wide right, kayal and ledley centrally, and McCourt/Commons (when on form) wide left. For big games we could stick Ledley out wide left and play Ki centrally which would give us more of a worker on the left.

    This! ^
Today was poor, 3 goals in 12 mins (including stokes' chopped off one :icon_mrgreen:) I was thinking we were about to pump them 5,6,7 nil maybe more.
We started sitting back, letting st midden enjoy more possession than I've seen us allow any other SPL team.
I think Maj is a huge problem, offers nothing but terror at the back and is as effective as a 6ft 50p piece at the other end. I like the guy, great passion and enjoys playing for us but he simply isn't good enough. Thought this last season as well!
As for Broony, this will be a lifelong debate between us all... Lenny obviously thinks he brings something to the team worth him being captain and keeping out some really skilled players (Forrest, Commons, Maloney and Paddy) that would offer us real penetration in attack.
I'm glad we have a couple weeks break for most of the squad, looks like everyone needs a rest.
The whole team looked off the mark bar Hooper and Stokes in the first 20 mins winning us the match. Lets hope it's just an off day after a * 2 weeks.
