BR appointment was always going to split the fan base. Definitely think he should be doing more tactically.

What's insulting is our board posting huge profits and taking our money while bloating our squad with cheap unproven project players. I mean they were not even buying them for positions we most needed.

I'm sure the plan was to develop these players but when injuries come first they proved to be ineffective.

 

The guy who had a go at the board was ejected from the stadium by 4 stewards at the direction of Nicholson

It was a big call to bring Brendan back considering the way he left and why he left.

We were doing well under Ange and had a young squad with a style of play, with some serious assets among them.

We lost Ange and brought in Brendan. Everyone was to assume that was to push on and sign some players to bring us to the next level.

Words from Rodgers at the time about Euro ambition plus the record sale of Jota just reinforced the belief we would go on to spend heavy to put Rodgers stamp on the squad.

But it didnt happen, and thats the biggest mystery of all.

Can’t defend the board, but this group of players isn’t hugely different from last year.

This is on the management and coaching staff. We should have built on what Ange started and got someone in who had the same philosophy, not the opposite one.

 

When Ange was appointed, and all was going well, I was always a bit weary to give the board any credit. I gave Nicholson credit after he was appointed, but for the likes of Desmond, Bankier, Lawell, it was always my feeling they got extremely lucky with Ange. They went for a cheap city connection who turned out to be a massive success.

Whilst Rodgers wasn't the cheap option, he was certainly the lazy option. They didn't care or try to go for another manager that would actually require a bit of scouting, we picked a guy who we undersold so much he left mid-season, and then undersold him again.

Rodgers himself is a large part of the current issues, but as a club, I don't think we'll ever properly kick on until the board is gone.

 

In the summer had we signed a quality left back and goalkeeper plus Palma to replace Jota I genuinely believe the Board would be able to defend themselves. But there is large cash surplus which means we can afford to be more proactive im the transfer market and can afford in particular to pay better wages. The Board are male, pale and stale. *

 

Anyone defending this board is NOT a celtic fan.

Ange propped us up for 2 years, the fact of the matter is we are run by old out of touch morons who don’t have a clue what a modern football club looks like, we are a good 10 years behind clubs of a similar stature on the continent and it won’t change as long as the Desmond’s and lawells are here
