I am sure that Guinness would want the huns and the proddies to keep drinking the stuff.

Therefor they wouldn't want Celtic as a sponsor.

While I agree probably bollocks I think your first point is nonsense.

Tennents is sold in nearly every pub in Scotland never mind Glasgow yet they felt it beneficial to sponsor us. As well as this Coca Cola is the world's most popular brand and everyone knows it and recognises it yet they still advertise their plain original coke because it is essential to maintain sales.

As Andy Goram (which one? I hear you ask!) would say: NO CHANCE.

As much as I love the black stuff I doubt they'd want to. :54:

Like it or not we're considered a Catholic club by many. Especially a certain group of bigots in the North of Ireland. And a lot of bigots wouldnt buy a drink that sponsors a club they perceive as being catholic-oriented.

Wasn't it originally called "black protestant porter"?

I heard they were also pretty slow on hiring catholics.

I doubt the amount of huns that would boycott the drink would be that many to be honest. In saying that, they are very bitter at the moment so maybe a few more than under normal circumstances.

I was tOO young to drink at the time but when the huns were sponsored by McEwans lager did we stop drinking that? Or one of their other products? If McEwans 70 or 80 sponsored them I certainly wouldn't stop drinking it. I * love them beers.

nonsense, I've been working all over the globe for the last 6 years and its difficult to find somewhere that doesn't sell Guinness, plus how much more business would they get? You'd be hard pushed to find a Celt that does't already drink it....

What, like Tennents? A company who sponsors both us and the huns? Surely the hardcore bigot would boycott their own team for being associated with those taigy fecks?

I have tried it in Glesga and didn't like it.

i had heard people saying it is different in Ireland, so had a pint in Dublin while there & it was still *.

I know a guy who didn't like it but stuck with it as the lager kills him hangover wise, He now says it the best.
