rangers have no chance in europe so winning another few games is great, more injuries, tired legs. bayern are a cert to win the uefa cup, i'm a bit worried about the SPL but we can beat anyone on our day so taking 9 points off the gers shouldn't be too hard, i hope....mon the hoops!

to tell you the truth the only reason why rangers are getting through these ties in europe is through other teams mistakes, as soon as rangers come up against a half decent side, theyll get horsed out, am just worried about when we play them because they will have every man behind the ball and play total negative football. celtic cant afford to make any defensive errors either

pretty obvious i was talking about the last 16 tie, no?

bhoys i'm sorry 2 say this but bremen are a pretty good side! they got a good defence, a great midfield and a solid attack! so the gers did pretty good to win the 1st leg against them (without even conceding)! as far as them winning the uefa cup it ain't gonna happen! there are too many strong sides from the EPL and the bindesliga so no worries there! so let's hope they can stick in there for a couple more legs, it will certainly help us win the SPL!

Mr Q. The Huns had one good chance, apart from that it was purely to Keeper mistakes that won them the tie.

    Absolute defeatist rubbish:38:

Luckily you werent the manager back in 67 FFS. By your way of working Celtic should never have turned up to play Inter Milan in Lisbon that day.

I have total faith in the team to win the league but agree that anything that can hinder their progress like scottish cup replays , game cancellations , fixture congestion should benefit us.. They , similar to our Martin O'Neil Seville team are packed with big strapping guys who need more time to recover than the wee yins , and every game they play will be much better for us.. I'd happily see them get knocked out of three cup competition in a week starting on Sunday , but I also want to see their team get totally stretched to the limit.. I don't think there's a problem with wanting an edge , rather than going for a straight head to head fight for the title..

Strachan will put a team out to defend against rangers hoping to * a goal, with only 4pts he will try not to lose the auld firm games causing stalemate and hoping rangers slip up against other teams.

Thats the strachan way, we needed 2 goals against Barca and he puts out a team to defend, he had no intention of trying to qualify, he just wanted it to look good on paper. every celtic fan wanted us to have a go' if we lost 4-0 so what at least we tried, but what we did on Tuesday was a joke.

if rangers win the title watch for excuses that certain players need to stand up and be counted for next years challange.

Dont like strachan never have and never will he is doing the same at celtic that he did at coventry and southampton, he was chosen as manager to cut wages.

My son says he has an ego problem and likes to be the centre of attention thats why he gets rid of the best players so he remains the biggest star attraction in the dressing room.

Just look at the players that have left and who has been brought in.

I seen all this coming when the board would not spend £5m on bellamy.

Strachan is a comfortable loser who does best in relagation positions winning the odd game against top sides, now he is managing a top side he thinks he is doing great, we were 4pts clear in Nov 2007 now 4pts behind' 8 points given to the opposition.

We have become a damage limitation team just as hibs and hearts were when they played us in the MON years.

This guy strachan is damaging the prestige that has been built up over the years.

Remember when MON left Ronald Kouman wanted the job but was overlooked for strachan who walked out of southampton at chrismas after he took them to the bottom of the EPL, strachan was employed asd a hatchet donkey where kouman would have wanted to spend cash.

If the board are serious about going to spend then sack strachan and get someone in who knows what they are doing.

A lot may not agree with me here, but give it two months and you will all see how comfortable a loser this guy is.

Read all the posts; people are saying rangers have cup games etc which give us a better chance. "They are in the cups not us" when did we ever care what they are up to we just wanted to get them on the park' how things have changed since mon left and strachan became manager.

You are kidding yourself' point is they are in the cups and 4pts in front and they won yesterday' no matter how they got their goals the fact that they attacked shows the difference between them and us.

If strachan puts out one striker against them then he is admitting he is a defeatest.

I wish i had the confidence that all you have but in truth I see us dropping more points and they could win the title by 11pts or so.

I hope not but i cant see us closing the gap of just 4pts and I dont blame the players i blame one man Strachan and the board that new exactly what they were doing when they appointed him.

In their eyes its a success wage cut right down' celtic have been dumbed down since 2003 to just another scottish team who cant cut it in europe.

I can admire the commitment to our club on here but the level of reality in some of the comments is shocking.

Everyone seems so so unbelievably confident of taking 9 points of Rangers etc. I really hope this is the case but hope is as far as it goes.

The reality is Rangers cannot be as bad or as lucky as most seem to make out or else they wouldnt be ahead of us in the league or have handed us a 3-0 defeat earlier in the season.

In our last 3 games against them we have lost 1,2 and 3 nil and that does instill too much confidence.

Its one thing being optimistic but to be so over confident doesnt exactly demonstrate a great level of football knowledge when your basing your predictions on recent facts. I hope we beat them and think we will in at least one of the games but i certainly dont think we will easily win them all like most others.

I know i will get pelters for this but im happy enough to expect that. If we went 10 years without a trophy there would still be those out there claiming that we are this and that.

We are decent but not good enough for me at the moment and i want better players brought in to replace some of the duds that strachan has purchased.

From being so far ahead to being behind rangers this season is terrible and very hard to live with, but with honesty imo rangers are gonna be an extremely hard nut to crack in our head to heads.

I was thinking the same because although it was Barcelona in the nou camp and we needed to win , you'd have to think there are similarities with how we set out at Ibrox.. The Ibrox game won't be as open , but they will attack us with width , and would be really surprised to see Naka start at Ibrox.. Donati's had a serious question mark put against his big game temperament and ability this week and wouldn't be surprised if that's his goose cooked for the visit to Ibrox.. Would be nice to think we'll go an attack them because under Walter Smith (in the ten years or whatever it is he's had at the club) they have never once paid us respect and always attack us like they feel they should beat us , that's at Parkhead also..

We need that mentality regardless of what the points deficit is because playing for a draw is an overused negative phrase which doesn't always really reflect how a football match gets played..

Glenn Hoddle is the man who had that accusation thrown at him by the media , both at England and Spurs , but I don't think there's any validity agaisnt Strachan.. Petrov wanted out , Maloney wanted out , Most of the others that left were a bit rough..

I honestly think he believes we have good enough players to win the league (or he couldn't bring in the quality that he really wanted) and will be just as dissapointed as any of us fans if he doesn't suceed this year..
If he comes out with any "I wouldn't put my house on it" remarks as regards to winning the title then you know he's taken us for a ride this season.. :97:
