Oh, I must also add - Boruc truly showed his worth tonight. Barca could have easily scored 2-3 more goals if not for Boruc's amazing performance. That left leg desperation save nearing the end of the game was stunning in quality.

I hope anyone who liked Caldwell * watched this match.

And dont say its because its against Barcelona.

    * O'Dea was brilliant against AC Milan and they have just as many great players as barcelona.

they are sky sports favourites to win the competition! being ahead twice in 1 game against a team like barca is something to be proud of in its self!

    Barca played some amazing football.

Caldwell, McManus and Robson were awful.

Mistakes, giving the ball away etc is what cost us two of the three goals.

As good as Barcelona were, it was self inflicted damage by Celtic.

Also, goes to show how bad the SPL is, the mistakes we made wouldn’t be noticed in the SPL and we would win the game 6-0.

until he blew the goal Caldwell had been one of our best players. Have to agree he was taken apart after that though.

I'm devastated but am slowly recovering from the defeat. Barca were amazing after all and what really matters is the league.

Hmm... 2 goals were his fault.

How many were O'Dea's fault last season against AC Milan in 2 matches?

    0?

The Bottom line is we played against a level we haven't met in Strachan's time at the club.. Yeah , I accept AC Milan were * good but midfield and defence was their real dominance.. Barca just attack and attack and while they attack they are vulnerable to the counter attack.. We probably created 3 or 4 or 5 good chances tonight and scored twice which says we didn't have enough emphasis on attack.. We played to their tune.. When they attacked , they attacked as a team.. Puyol was instrumental in every attack down the right side , Abidal got involved at the start of the second half.. When they didn't have the ball they worked their bollocks to get it back and they defended as a team.. I think that is the difference.. Their highline was just short of the halfway line.. Our highline was just outside our 18 yard box.. Barcelona are an awesome team with emphasis on attack.. We gave it our best , we made mistakes and we were clinical with our chances.. That's our level with the players we have.. Every single player can be criticised or praised , it's just how you saw the game , and that's the difference between hailing one player and slagging another player off..

For me , this was a free game to enjoy and embrace the fact we are palying at this level.. The priority has always been the league and if Strachan believes the second leg will be used as an exercise then it's good enough for me...

Haha, Keltoi, sometimes you try too hard to be different in opinion.

He was absolutely atrocious throughout the entire match.

I'm not arguing the point of our performance, but they are * hot team, Im sure a Celtic fans will agree, - would be different if they arrived to defend and steal a goal, but I'll take my hat off to them..

aint bothered at all by this. Our chances were always tiny of going through anyway. We just need to make sure we keep up the league form of the last few weeks now.
