I wish I had seen this thread before it happened to me! Because at the time I thought I had become permanently paralysed. It has happened a few times since, the weird thing now is I usually go into a dream straight after where I can control everything that happens. It's amazing, I have to admit I have directed them into sexual fantasies on the times it happened. And I can tell you one thing, it's feels like exactly the real thing. Amazing what the the sub conscious can do.

Great thread this. Not experienced sleep paralysis but have had some real bad one's in the past and some beautiful ones. Trying understanding your dreams is some *. Don't know if there is a separate thread on dreams but this should be it.

Had this yesterday morning, was terrifying but thankfully only lasted 10 seconds at most but its hard to tell.
First of all I was in a dream, and I realised I was dreaming, its hard to explain but for some reason in the dream I was telling myself ' try have sleep paralysis ' Next thing I know Im awake, but cant open my eyes or move my body. I could feel something right above my face, as if somebody was staring at me. Next of all I start hearing this foreign voice whispering angrily at me, it sounded Japanese-ish. At this stage I was * petrified so tried calling for my Dad but could only really whisper. I was trying really hard to scream though, I think I may have forced myself awake by doing so. When I woke up I quickly looked around my room then got under my bed covers like a little shitebag haha.

Also, I'm not convinced in this hallucinating theory, howcome we all see negative things & hear negative sounds ? Nobody ever reports seeing positive images which to me is very strange. Call me crazy but I'm convinced its the work of demons /spirits whatever you want to call them.
I was reading on a site earlier that these demons go for you when you are asleep as you are most vulnerable. I also read that these demons are more likely to go for people eho look up things sbout UFO's etc, which I do every now & then. Also read that watchin horror films makes you a target aswell & I happened to be watching The Excorcist by myself the night before the morning it happened to me, which is kind of freaky. You can even look at the Scariest Film Thread & I was asking for a link.

Its fair to say Im dreading going to sleep now haha!

It's because you're expecting the images to be negative. If you think they're going to be bad, chances are they are. It's possible to manipulate these hallucinations into something good, but in most cases people just panic and fear takes hold.

Even though I get sleep paralysis all the time I've never hallucinated. The only thing I had was after going to bed after Wrestlemania about 12/13 years ago I woke up paralysed and heard a steam train in the room!

Had a dream a few nights ago that I was in a very deep pool and couldn't make it back to the top. I woke up gasping for air, must have stopped breathing in my sleep and my body decided to let me know lol

    * *, it's amazing what words on a page can do. I'm getting shivers reading these stories. More effective than actual images :56:

The steam train one above is funny though. If this was ever going to happen to me, I'd want something like that and not the other horror stories that have been posted.

Just one question though; is this more common in people who drink a lot of alcohol and dabble in minor drugs (such as marijuana)? I very rarely do either (never taken any kind of drug actually), so I'm wondering if this reduces my chances of it happening to me.

This must be what I used to get when I was younger. I would wake up and hear loud whispers in my ear and objects come toward my face then just seem to whizz by.

I would get up out of my bed, walk about and still be able to hear the voices and *, thought I was going insane lol.

I think alcohol and drugs increase your chances of it.

I think the pain in your side was already there and your mind created a dream out of it to make some sense of it.

I've had those dreams about *, sore stomachs etc... and woke up with a sore stomach or bursting for a *. (No i never wet the bed before any smart * says anything :icon_mrgreen: )

    Yes!!!

I have had it before. Like a year ago, I was just lying there with my head flat on my pillow, almost half in a dream like state. I could see all around my room but just couldn't move, I tried to say something but I couldn't either.... it lasted for like 5 minutes, I was really freaked out.

The strangest thing that ever happened to me whilst sleeping (and I'll do my best to put it into words, as it's quite bizarre) was one night when I was up watching TV and then went to bed afterwards. It must have been about 4 or 5 in the morning and it was only a couple of months ago, so it was still quite light outside at that time.

It wasn't sleep paralysis, I don't think. It was more lucid dreaming. Anyway, I have the Kevin Bridges DVD that I usually watch, the one that he released a couple of years ago, but I wasn't watching it on this occasion. However, I fell asleep and then started dreaming that I was lying in the exact same spot, fully aware of what I was doing, and the DVD was playing on the XBOX, as it normally would be had I been watching it whilst awake. Plus, I could move and everything. In other words, I was in complete control. However, the images of Bridges on the TV were changing to black and white all the time, becoming contorted, and generally moving from side to side. It was the trippiest * ever.

Another thing that happened before that, in a similar situation (watching TV on the couch in the livingroom) was when I apparently fell asleep on the couch and whilst dreaming, I started walking around the livingroom and decided to look in the mirror. Bad idea, as I've read online that you're not supposed to look in mirrors whilst lucid dreaming, as things don't always appear right. I then fell over in a sort of slow motion fashion and remember trying to shout for my mum to come and help me.

Shortly after, I woke up on the couch and with this being my first experience of accidental (must stress that bit, as I don't know how to do it intentionally) lucid dreaming, I was * creeped out. That's my two stories anyway, neither of which I'd like to repeat. Ever.
