Just want to say, independent of revealing my own opinion on the matter, that Canada is also in Afghanistan. Even if we're pretty much withdrawing next year. Britain and the US aren't the only two :50:

Most countries that are NATO members are in Afghanistan. USA have about 90,000 troops there, UK has 10,000 and then other countries have less.

Ok, well I didn't say anyone was innocent. However, the armed forces of the NATO countries are not sent there in order to bully, intimidate or kill the locals. Innocent lives have been lost, which happens in every war and it is a disgusting and needless cost. But the armed forces are out there fighting a very real enemy who are also very motivated and very dangerous. The armed forces are there in order to eradicate the Taleban threat from Afghanistan and provide stability for the local people. They work with the Afghan police and government in order to try and achieve this. Many local people have regular contact with the armed forces there through interpretors and understand the difficult yet necessary job being carried out there.

you could say the same about the serbian army mate, and the croatian,

the more we debate about * like this, if we should or shouldnt support resistance movements, makes it easier for both sides to target us with propaganda

Oh wow. That's not what he said at all and the military people I've met are more aware of the faults of some of their fellow servicemen because they've seen it. There are bad apples but you can't say they're the same as people who did what he described the Taliban as doing.

Yes innocent people have been killed as in any war, does that mean it was on purpose no. we always went to the highest extreme possible to avoid civilian casualties and I can happily say my unit never caused any. We had to go through at least 7 ROE checks before we could engage anyone, that means that unless we were being shot at we had to get approval 7 different times from a few different people before we could do anything, on the other hand the taliban kill innocent people for offences like not growing a beard, but if you feel like it is ok for them to do so that is fine, its your opinion

Yes we have a right to judge, just because they make the laws doesnt mean that they are just, who elected them who sad that they could take over and make all the rules. I am pretty sure the Afghan people were not very happy since they were cheering in the streets when the taliban got kicked out

Muslim fanatics where there long before the USA or the west did anything, all they want to do is enslave the world under their evil ideology. If it were up to you though we would do nothng while the bombed our cites and murdered and oppressed millions of innocent muslims and non muslims in the middle east, africa and asia

from madrassas in pakistan where young men who have no food or money are brainwashed to fallow the radical sect of islam, they are then sent over into afghanastan to fight NATO troops and kill civilians
