    Doubt it.

His agent has said no fee has been agreed yet.

Shows what I know, I'm sure I read somewhere that a fee had been agreed and he was flying over to discuss personal terms.

Probably some made up Twitter *.

The Sun ran with the article. We had agreed a £3 million fee with Schalke and he was flying over tomorrow.

Earlier today though the agent said it was a load of *:50:

Is Pukki always played up front? Or do they sometimes play him on the left or something? That could explain the abysmal scoring record.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. ;) I just like to use St Mirren as an example. Probably wouldn't sound as offensive if I said that many English League 1 clubs are better than St Mirren? The German 3. Liga is no worse than English League 1, so my argument stands...

Wikipedia is right, but within the last 3 years he has also scored 18 goals for HJK, 6 for Finland and 3 for Finland U21. I just wanted to correct this heinous piece of misinformation!

He has played many of his games at Schalke on the wings or in the 10 position. Probably even around 40% of the time he hasn't been playing up front.

It's the fact he almost never starts.

1 in 5 for someone who rarely starts in the Bundesliga is actually pretty good, and he has a decent record with Finland who aren't a great side.

Despite what you may have heard and what many like to believe, no team in Scotland's first tier is as bad as any team in England's third tier.

It wasn't offensive, it was just baseless.

Here's another site that says he has only scored 8 goals since 2011 playing for Schalke.

Where are you getting your info?

    You're another real civil one.

Yeah I knew he was like Schalke's 3rd in line striker.

He is probably an impact player, coming on mostly as a sub.

Still, is this the kind of player we should invest 3 million on? Or should we just get the other two and get the guy Finnabogasson from herenveen? Seems the better option

The facts are - he has scored 8 goals in roughly a dozen full games for Schalke. In what way is that abysmal? His scoring record for HJK was also excellent. 6 goals in his last 15 international matches as well - very good.

I am civil, just getting * off because this same point has been made about 15 times in this thread.

He has scored against plenty of decent teams in his career:

Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Real Sociedad, Schalke, Hamburg, Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin, Mainz, Hoffenheim, Hannover and Freiburg.

I just can't get too excited about this. Maybe he'll rock the house at Celtic park but I'm not betting any money on it.
The board is ridiculous for not signing the proven option from Herenveen weeks ago.

    We've not signed Pukki.
    We've not signed Finnbogason.

We still might sign either one of them (or both depending on Wednesday's result).

    Wait until the window shuts:50:

Its actually great in comparison to other strikers in that League.

Mandzukic 1 goal every 167 minutes
Lewandowski 1 goal every 131 minutes
Huntelaar 1 goal every 146 minutes

Pukki averages 1 goal every 136 minutes.

Rudnevs who people on here have been wanking over only averages 1 goal every 212 minutes in the same League.

Yeah Im just going by the press.. Not the most reliable source of information. But there has been hardly anything in the way of reports about Finnbogasson lately. But its been reported that next week Pukki is flying into Glasgow to negotiate terms. We should have signed the better option of these two before we even played Shakhter. Thats what I am so angry about. But yeah maybe we'll pump Karagandy 3-0 and sign both strikers. It always helps to be optimistic. Its just a difficult thing for me to do thesedays :54:

Well, let's just say that outside Scotland your league (the worst 3-4 teams at least) is seen in a very different light... SPL used to be a good, even a great league, but at the moment mid-table clubs can't even compete with Swedish clubs on European level.

Ross County bought two players from the Dutch second league directly into their starting lineup this summer. Inverness was overwhelmed by players from the English Conference, if I'm not mistaken. An overweight Alexei Eremenko Jr came and dominated the entire SPL two years ago changing the course of Kilmarnock entirely.

I have big respect for Celtic, but behind them the SPL is a shadow of its past, and there's no point in pretending otherwise. In the UEFA country rankings Scotland are 24th: behind countries like Israel, Cyprus, Denmark, Belarus, Poland, Croatia and Sweden. Believe it or not, I've also watched SPL, and I've watched League 1, and I've watched the German 3. Liga, but even by being gentle towards Scottish football, I can't honestly say that I would believe that Partick, Inverness or St. Mirren would even win promotion in League 1.
