THis makes no sense in footbal terms so there is a story behind it. I would guess that he had a row. I think there has been a problem for a while. He was injured early season and he has not played well in the reserves since. He may have insisisted on a transfer because he wasnt getting in the first team. Shame because he looked really decent on his one game in the 1st team. He was one of the only reserve players (other than always injured Ferry and Grant) that I rate.

Keltoi do you think that just maybe the problem with a lot of players who have left in the last 2 1/2 years is that they don't get on with GS. I'm surprised Teddy isn't accused of * his wife or daughter by now.
Maybe these players are * as they see what a lot of fans see, that inferior players will play before them as long as they kiss Strachan's *.
Imagine if you were a decent player and Caldwell is keeping you out of the team.

Same thing happened with o'neil's team he had his favourites and loads of players left because of it.

    Happens with most managers.

You might see Teddy yeah in the premiership, but so are players like ross wallace and Stephan pearson and i would not take them back.

We dont seem to be able to bring on young talent there have been exceptions I know.

I wonder if we could pay Arsenal a few quid to stick them in there reseves for a season as they seem to produce young stars.

Teddy,Sno,Cuthbert and alot more talent going to waste.

To be fair nobody could justify playing Teddy in the 1st team on this year's reserve form. He was great last year but poor this year.

FFS - always thought he looked like a prospect as well.

Is he any worse than Evander Sno?

Och well, hope he fares well back in his native Norway.:icon_mrgreen:

I am norwegian so now a'bit about Lyn. Theyre not a very good team in the Norwegian league. Every season in the middle of the table. Chelseas Mikel played here, and they have a history of giving young players chances. FC Lyn have a very small fan bace, and not a superb echonomic. Will never get big in the Norwegian league, and will have small chances getting out to Europe. So I will guess this is just a temporery stay for a couple of seasons (depends how much better he gets).

Good luck, hope you do well.

You guys might say that I dont know what Im talking about because im an american and I dont watch reserve games. But I would like to understand the reasoning behind how much a loss this is.

He goes to a mid-table NORWEGIAN CLUB for 300,000. Surely if he was going to be the Icelandic Pele(which some of you make him out to be) he would have ended up on loan for one. Or for two he wouldnt end up at some mid-table Norwegian Club. Surely scouts from clubs in England (championship with more money than 300k) and elsewhere would have noticed him.

How often does the promise of a legend when young pan out?

If he ends up ever playing for a club in the Champions League Ill be shocked and apologize.

Crying over spilled milk is all I'm saying.

Hey. Whats wrong with norwegian football. Our 4 best team almost knocked out a luxemburg top side:p . But yeah, off course youre right. If he really is that big of a talent, than he would be on a loan to some other scottish or perhaps championship club. The norwegian league isnt that bad (Rosenborg beat Valencia two times this year i CL for excample), it can be atractive for some unknowned talents, but we are talking about a player who has been in a top european side for many years. Obviously he wont be dominating in a top league (thought he can play in a Premiership club later on) at any point of his career.

EDIT: No, he is only 20.

allowing a kid with loads of ability leave for peanuts....Shay Given anyone??

why do we continue to trust a man who thinks Evander Sno, Gary Caldwell and Steven Pressley are football players??? :31:

What has Shay Given got to do with WGS?

Why do we continue to trust a man who has won us 2 leagues in a row, a League Cup, a Scottish Cup and got us out of the CL group stages two years in a row? I honestly dunno!!

Who would you have right now in place of WGS?

i was comparing letting a young guy with loads of potential go for peanuts just like we did with shay given. sorry if that was too hard for you to grasp.

i would rather have someone who wasnt an arrogant dwarf and someone who didnt think steven pressley deserved to wear a celtic shirt

Why would that be hard for me to grasp?

There are a lot of folk out there who aren't arrogant dwarves and hate Pressley - anyone in particular who you think could bring the same success as WGS?

well you asked what shay given had to do with strachan so obviously you found the point i was making hard to grasp.

Davie Moyes, Mark McGee, Tony Mowbray. all excellent managers who would play football the Celtic way and would also show the Celtic supporters the respect they deserve.

Moyes is a decent manager the other two are competent but nothing great.....I would rather my manager told me to go * myself twice a week and three times on a Sunday but produced a winning Celtic side, than have my manager being polite, respectful and courteous while the team were struggling week in week out. In an ideal world we would all love to have a manager who was respectful, charismatic who could pull world class players into the side for pennies and have the team winning every trophy they entered playing a style of football fit for the Gods.....unfortunetly the one man who had all those fine attributes in abundance is no longer with us...The Legend that was Jock Stein.
