I think it's class, like a wee bit of diversity from a band. Not listened to Reef too much, might do a wee dive on them soon

Never liked big star when I was 15 or so when it was released, took too many E's for that :56:. Love it now though

Outstanding live man, I miss proper live gigs with bands who could pull it off

Gene Okerlund had a band in his high school days long before the wrestling fame.

I'm absolutely certain we've had this discussion before. You're the only one to provide evidence.

I'm so sure I seen a Simon interview talking about it.

Those days are very hazy though so who knows :giggle1:

Aye we have spoke about OCS before, I forget almost everything :56: TBF the lyrics could support both ideas. I'll keep looking, need to know, hate the thought of saying this to * and they are like, this guy is a joker never listened to OCS in his life :56:

Nice, been getting into those bands a wee bit more the last few years, stone roses more recent, Yeah I was just a bit young to be into them, just passed me by. Good thing about good music it transcends generations. I remember my da saying "you will like the Beatles, your kids will like the Beatles" I was about 8/9, he wasn't wrong tbf. Me and my 2 kids 17 and 22 like the Beatles

I have unapologetically never liked Stone Roses. Well that's a bit unfair, I never jumped on the band wagon, even at the time but they have some catchy tunes. I preferred Happy Mondays, Big Country, Talking Heads and then backwards to Dylan, Velvet Underground, The Kinks etc.

Never got them, even now I listen to Love Spreads, I love John Squire's guitar work but it goes on a bit and I usually get about a minute or so in and jump back to the start to hear the intro again. Not listened to much Mondays probably only 1 or 2 of their bigger hits, Couldn't name a big country song tbh, maybe heard one but can't bring one ot mind, Talking heads such an unusual band, only skimmed the surface on them but like what I hear. Dylan no words needed (my son was named Dylan, me ex wanted him named after me but I wanted him to have his own identity, he wasn't named Dylan directly from my love of Bob but it was a part of a compromise), I like the velvet underground again not deep dived into their catalogue but like most of their more popular ones, I'm waiting for the man is the one I listen to most from them, The kinks are well underrated again not deep dived but Strangers is my favourite of theirs just now

Talking Heads was round about the time I started borrowing my aunt's album, about 85. Talking Heads, Gerry Rafferty, Velvet Underground, Kinks, Blondie among others.

How good is music though? I think I've got a song for every life altering moment in my life. The second I hear it it transports me to a specific moment in time.

Absolutely, I liked music but only listened to 60's/70's until the day we caught the train came out, changed my life and perspective almost instantly.
Aye music is intrinsically linked to our experiences.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed and I can't listen to music, one of the indicators that I'm not right and I need to have a break from life but that feeling once I get back to myself wand I hear a tune and it really resonates, its up there with the best experiences of life for me especially when coupled with good times with friends or family

I prefer this version, growing up with undiagnosed autism the words just hit home (outside of a circle, I never felt quite in tune with neurotypical people), never realised that as a 15yo what it meant to me though. Obviously the album version was what I heard when young but the add on this version of the inspiral carpets "this is how it feels to be lonely" it hits harder now when I look back on my life
