With the caveat that I don’t know much about him, (1) he’s on the Olympic team (u-23), and (2) Berhalter wasn’t a great judge of talent (seemed like his first name on the team sheet was 36-y/o Tim Ream, for example).

 

CCV has never been a regular for the US team and we know how good he is. Not saying that applies to every player but international managers often omit good players. O'Riley is a perfect example. Atalanta fans probably think "why they wanting 30 mil for someone who can't even get into the Denmark squad?"

Genuine question: If you weren’t a Celtic fan and were given the option between Celtic and, let’s say Fiorentina, what would the pros of signing for Celtic be? Because Fiorentina win hands down in terms of finances, the city and climate you’d be living in, and the league you’d be playing in.

It’s crazy how so many of our fans think transfers and attracting quality players to our league are straightforward.

No… well, not really.

I’ve stated that I think the club should have sealed the Bernardo deal quicker so that he benefitted from a full preseason. He’s obviously an entirely different scenario to someone who hasn’t spent the last year here. Similarly, if Idah is our number one target up front then we should be acting quicker to close the deal or moving on.

I’d also argue a case that we’re desperate enough for a centre back and left back that we should have been acting quicker, if possible. I don’t see another centre mid as being as urgent, at least while O’Riley is still here.
