Well I hope he can stay healthy and work his way into the team, its obvious that he has talent and has looked good the few times we have seen him

He is a Celtic player, of course we had a choice in the matter.

We should be doing what's best for us, not the Australian national team, I think it would have benefited us and Rogic if he had been loaned to a team in our league. We already knew he could cut it in Oz, so what were we going to learn from that loan spell?

He's an Australian league quality player. Remember those idiots in the Australian media who said the Scottish league would be a step down for him etc and he as too good for Celtic...

Don't know if anyone said the Scottish league would be a step down or that he was too good for Celtic, but plenty in Oz (me included) said SPL was the wrong league for him and Celtic the wrong team.

Rogic is a very technical player and needs to play in a league where his talents can be properly expressed and developed. Belgium, Holland, Switzerland...even Austria or Sweden would have been better than Scotland (which is pretty similar to the Australian league in terms of speed and physicality - I say nothing about contrast in quality because I don't watch enough of the SPL to know). Once established in one of those Euro leagues, his quality might have shone though and got him a gig in (say) the Bundesliga, which is where I think he is best suited.

But even SPL would have been a good option for him if he was regularly playing. He should have gone to a team where he was more or less guaranteed game time - anywhere but Celtic where competition for places and/or systems that don't suit him would mean his quality would get little chance to shine. There are other Australians playing successfully in the SPL who are not fit to tie Rogic's bootlaces - just before he got injured he'd broken into the Socceroos and was looking one of our best players in years. (We just won the Asian Cup without him.)

Unfortunately he's been chronically injured ever since he arrived, and that might have happened at any club on the softer pitches of Scotland. As a Celtic fan I'd love him to come good in Scotland, but I doubt it'll happen. Next stop Belgium is my guess.

How long has he left on his contract ?

He has a few months with RD and JC to work on his speed and fitness. He already is technically decent, just a bit cumbersome. Never know how things will pan out but I think we have a management team capable of improving most players, so wouldn't rule him out as a squad player yet. He has the passing ability required to play in the Commons/Johansen role, just a matter of him being able to play the closing down style demanded from our players now.

Rogic, Boerrigter and Forrest must have a * of a social life. Earning great money and never having to go to work must be pretty ideal :87:

In the short glimpses I saw of him under Lennon I really liked him. Seemed to have an eye for a pass, a good bit of technique and a good shot. Work-rate has always been questionable and injuries are about the worst thing for dealing with that. But mind he's not long turned 22 so there might be a player there yet.

Hope he stays injury free and starts to impress in the development squad, think there is a player in there somewhere.

Also, haven't noticed before but the development squad is adopting Ronnie's first team tactics with the 4-2-3-1. Looks like Rogic is playing in Bitton's role and Joe Thomson in behind the striker, plenty to be excited about in the future of our club :50:

I forgot all about Rogic. Let's hope we all remember his name for the right reasons.

Can't see a future here for him but would be happy if I was wrong.

That Derk * needs to * off, robbing a youngster of their gametime is all he's doing :38:
