Then let me clear it up for you. We are on a football chat thread talking about international football. I thought it was self explanatory I was speaking about it from a football perspective. Clearly not to some. I now understand why manufaturers feel the need to put things like "warning, may contain nuts" on packets of nuts.

Rogic is our player buts he’s also Australian, it doesn’t matter what level their opponents are at if the aus manager wants him then that’s the end of it.

If one of our players thought they were so good they could pick and choose which games they played I’d want them gone.

Every international tournament starts with a pre tournament training camp and they can make or break a tournament. Don’t act like this is news to you all.

The fact that some of you think rogic should ruin his international career to play for us is * delusional.

The Australian manager is well within his rights, I don't blame him. In a job where you are lucky to get a few days with the players at a time, the 10-day warm up is a unique chance to take his players' understanding of how he wants them to play up a level, to bond and build team spirit, etc. Not only for this tournament but also future ones.

I love big Sutton; but he's out of order there. That's exactly the sort of patronising p*** you'd expect from an EPL fan.

Having said that, I really think we should think twice before signing Australians in future. Good though Rogic is when on form, the amount of time we lose through injury and internationals is ridiculous. He is consistently terrible for the first couple of games after international duty (which is hardly surprising given the amount of flying these games involve).
We're lucky if he's fit and on form for half the games sometimes.

I'm sick of it. * signing any more Australians, it's not value for money.

 

He’s no fit anyway and has been off the pace..

 

Obviously we don't know how he is going to play ( if selected) on Stephen's day, however on current form I don't think he deserves to play ahead of Christie, McGregor or Forrest.

There’s a couple of reasons I’d disagree with not signing more Australians.

1. Due to the market we can operate in, I don’t think we’re in a position to turn down players with Rogic’s ability.

2. Having players from Australia is one of the ways we can market the club there, and Australia is one of those places with a large number of people with Scottish and/or Irish heritage. While a player’s ability will always be the main thing we look at, let’s not ignore the other benefits he brings.

3. Despite the fact that his international travel affects him, I think Rogic has been worth his weight in gold, for us. The number of games we play, dictates that we should have some squad depth and ideally we should have some form of cover for him anyway. The centre of the park is where we’re strongest too, and Rogic is a big part of that.

 

Without doubt. At current market rates his weight in gold is around £4m...

 

£4m wouldn’t even have us starting negotiations.

 

Actually it is even lower, I forgot to convert the gold rate from dollars to pounds, so it is even less than £4m! Yes, I have too much time on my hands today.

We pay his wages. He should be available for our most important game of the season so far (league wise).

But we’ll be fine without him. Christie, McGregor and Brown will do quite nicely.

 

What gives you the right to spoil my rant with facts and reason?

 

Exactly, I'm one of his biggest fans but he's been * the last few weeks. We'll be fine without him, Christie is on fire!

 

Don’t get me wrong he has a great record against the Sheep and the Hun, we have great options at the moment. And it would have been nice to have him as one of those options.
