Lennon should do the right thing and give Rogic a run.

leaving him on the bench is of no use at all.

You are exaggerating a lot there. The a-league was only founded in 2004 to replace the defunct NSL which was so far from competitive. Of course it was going to improve significantly, it gathered backing of fans and created links to grass roots. However to say it has improved out of sight is a laugh.
This is half true, there are quite a number of good players who are being kept out of the team for the likes of Neill and Bresciano however a lot of the 2006 goldern era have long moved on. There are a number of players who shouldn't be in the team yet are but that is another issue. However bringing the young players won't cause Australia to storm up the rankings. As Bosnich pointed out after the France game the young international teams are doing just as poorly if not worse. Failing to qualify for major tournaments countless times now.

Can't remember the last time I saw him play?

Looks like he's slowly fading away, disappointing. I think the guy needs more chances, but I can't see him getting any. Look who he's got in front of him just now: Commons, Ledley, Kayal, Brown, McGeouch and even Biton.

Every major team in European football these days seem to have too many midfielders.
This is one category where I don't want us to be the same as Chelsea or Bayern Munich though.

We really need a loan agreement with a championship or small European team to loan them players. McGregor is doing great at Notts County and Watt will do good for Lierse if he leaves the bevvy alone. We have so many other youngsters like Rogic, McGeouch, George, Twardzik, Atajic who are just sitting on their arses rotting at Lennoxtown.

I think Rogic has potential to be a genuine top draw attacking mid, but it's not gonna happen with him not even getting sub appearances. Get him out on loan.

Seems this guy is going to be heading out soon....rarely played. He surprised if he's around much longer.

Had high hopes for him when he signed but he's hardly played and has not impressed when he's had opportunities. Still not sure what sort of player he is.

He started v Morton. Apart from a decent shot he was very poor.

Didn't watch that game mate, quite glad to be honest.. He probably was * that day but wasn't everyone? I still think he deserves more of a chance. The guy only made pro football what, 2 or 3 years ago? I was at the Brentford game in pre season and he played really well, was one of the best players on the park that day. Technically the lad was above everyone and he was always trying to make things happen. A few people around me were even saying things like "watch this lad, he's going to be great.." "one for the future" etc etc. Unfortunately he hasn't produced these glimpses on the league stage yet.

I think Lennon has a tendency of not really giving the young/fringe players enough of a chance. Sometimes you need to stick with these players and show some belief in them to get the best out of them. Rotting on the bench week in week out is not going to be doing any good for the lads confidence. Saying that though, whenever he does get his chance next (if he does), he needs to grab it with both hands and really assert himself. I think he's a bit shy tbh. That or he's really lacking in confidence.

    * I mean look at Ramsey for example for Arsenal last year. The guy looked poor. We would all hear about his ability but he never produced it for some reason or another. But, Wenger stuck by him and kept giving the lad chances and look what the result has been. The boy has been a revelation. Obviously they aren't the same players, but you get the point I'm trying to make.

We as a club are in a really fortunate position with regards to blooding youngsters. I read it time and time again last season about how we were going to give the young lads more opportunities in the League but that never ever happened. I cared before about the amount of games we won and lost and our points tally in the league, but now i couldn't give a *. We should be using this time (not quite yet, but after Christmas for sure) to give the young talent game time. We will win the league regardless, I always hear about our youth players being really good but unfortunately I never get to see them play.

Anyway a loan spell would be good for Rogic I think in January but it feels like Lennon doesn't rate him. With Commons being out for a few games you'd think he would get a look in, but like i said it seems there's a good 3/4 players in front of him now. He seems like a nice boy but niceness at the moment isn't going to get him in the first 11. Its a tough position that Rogic is in right now, I mean I have faith in him but he really needs to sort out his mental strength if he's going to achieve here. He hasn't impressed as much as he should have yet, but people need to have a wee bit of faith in the lad, remember he's only 20 and been here just under a year. Not to mention the fact he came from a completely different world.

..Sorry for my ramblings :smiley-laughing002:. Just want him to succeed here!

Of course if Rogic only gets one game and he doesn't play well, most ppl think he's a poor player. I'd say he hasn't been given enough chances imo.

every player has there good and bad days, seeing as Rogic is just starting out of course he's not going to blitz down the pitch lightning fast or have a good game everytime he plays.

    should have played more often.

Lennon would be a fool to leave Rogic on the bench.

Agree with all of this really.

You're right, the game against Morton was an off night for everyone it seemed, but it was the sort of game I was hoping that he'd want to impress in- it was a perfect opportunity for him to show what he could do against inferior opposition but he blew it a bit.

He needs a run in the team, starting 3 or 4 games in a row- but Lennon seems reluctant to do that. Putting him out on loan in January seems like the best option.

Despite coming from the much improved A-league :smiley-laughing002: there's been nothing I've seen of Rogic yet that makes me think he'll make it here. It would be nice to see him start a few games in a row, but at the same time he has to earn that right with the cameo appearances he has been given. So far he's not done that.

Really hope he gets a good run and does well. Think some are being a little harsh though, has he actually played in his preferred attacking midfield role yet?
