Glad she's on the mend mate.

One thing I'm always paranoid about is leaving my drink, won't even leave it beside mates. Only takes a fraction of a second for some sneaky scum-bag to spike you.

New Order without Peter Hook is a bit like Parkhead without the Green Brigade, good but not out of this world

does my * in when people dont read post's properly and then go on to get sarky digs in ..

    1. it was a kasabian gig ( at the secc )
    2. it was seated ( everyone was standing right enough )
    3. arseholes clearly too * and actually falling over the chairs into other rows and spilling their drinks all over people.

hate to be judgemental, but i would say ive got a good eye for a "ned", and i would imagine i hit the nail on the head with them.

fannies at australlian pink floyd at secc as well with their tops off shouting out "none of that * and geez comfortably numb". what the * is that actually all about man?
anyway, that wasnt really anything to do with topic, just making comparisons with similar people who are at a gig to hear 1-2 songs, NOT a festival**

Was in Amber 5 and there was some banter with singin football songs comin from all corners.

Group behind me were singin Celtic songs, another group were singin Rangers songs, another few groups were singin Hibs/Hearts/Motherwell songs and there were some English lads singing Derby songs I think it was. Was a good laugh and nice to see no trouble, just banter.

These dj sets are the worst.

Press play, stand looking like a douche, throw arm in the air, let the lightening crew have a field day - job done.

Here's what used to happen if a pop act came on at festivals:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hnxies4Wtk"]Daphne And Celeste Getting Bottled At Reading 2000 - YouTube[/ame]

Festivals used to be an escape from crap like The Wanted, Olly Murs, Nick Minaj and Jessie J .. now it looks like the Simon Coweel crew are moving in and no one gives a *.

Until people stop blindly buying tickets before line-ups are even announced, organisers won't get the messsage.

T in the park .. more like T4 in the park.

    Grim and depressing. :54:

I disagree I think there should be room for pop acts but credible ones, last year they had Beyonce and Coldplay (admittedly huge headline acts) and Tinie Tempah but this year they just put all the talentless X Factor excretion like Olly Murs, The Wanted and Cher Lloyd in and that, coupled with the most uninspiring set of headliners in any festival's history, is what made this year so *.

The worst part was when they tried to excuse the * headliners by saying "there's only about 10 artists big enough to headline". So Springsteen or Tom Petty or Jay-Z wasn't big enough? Or even more absurdly, the pish they did decide on is?

I hate it when there is 2 good bands on at the same time and I want to see both , at least when there is a pop act on I know I'm not missing anything so the choice is easy.

Mate, seriously, Coldplay write good music and play instruments, they are not a pop act but are probably the biggest band in the world right now and festival veterans, they thoroughly deserved their headline billing last year.

The rest of the cretins you mention are manufactured pish that can barely play the instruments in their pants.

    Enjoyed it again this year.

On the whole act debate: its good that there's a bit of everything for everyone, if you don't like the line up then just don't go.

It's usually sold out before people know the line-up.

It annoys me how people like Nicki Minaj, Dappy etc got main stages; yet Scottish people like Amy Macdonald and Calvin Harris get shoved in a tent.

Think you missed my point there. The headliners mentioned are perfect examples of great credible pop. Even Arctic Monkeys from last year, by far my favourite band, some of their best stuff is pop music, they switch between that and rock. Coldplay are definitely a pop act, Chris Martin would tell you the same thing. Playing instruments doesn't suddenly make pop music no longer pop music. I'm a Coldplay fan and they're one of the best bands I've seen live, and whilst I don't exactly put Beyonce on the iPod very often she is probably the biggest pop star in the world and she was unbelievable at Glastonbury last year. If anyone other than The Strokes had been on at the same time as her I'd definitely have gone to see her at T. Both have huge pedigree and both have headlined festivals all over the world. Compare that with this year's efforts and it's like comparing Gucci with Primark, or alternatively, our history with Sevco's!

    Let the people sing,
I guess this is a measure of the credibility that T has lost as you could buy a weekend camping ticket up until the friday for the first time ever.

I was really disgusted with the likes of olly murs, the wanted and cher lloyd etc but we have have to see past these *, avoid them, and realise there will hopefully always be enough good acts there to have a good weekend. There's loads i know have a good weekend at TITP without any acts,( although I myself am more about the music. :84:)

But nonetheless i feel the * lineup isn't just a problem with this festival or all festivals, but a problem with ALL music at the moment. It's getting ridiculous how hard you have to search for a decent artist, i can only hope this will change one day.
