Hopefully something in it , loan with an option to buy would be ideal , did well in the Dutch league but struggled in the Italian league , if you look at Bologna’s results they have only scored more than 2 goals once this season in the league and even then they have only score two goals in a game a handful of times, the issue may not be the player and more the leagues and teams he’s in.

I think the fees involved I would rather svh , at nac and heerenveen he had a goal every 2 games which is good going and as I said the fee would be half of what Aberdeen want

Miovski won't come this summer unless we pay well over the odds because Aberdeen won't have a replacement til the summer and he can't play in the cup.

I think loaning SVH would be better with option to buy. He had a good season last season, I think he would do well here. From 20-21 to 22/23 he scored 38 in 79 in the Dutch top flight. That's really good going.

edit:22 in 48, 20/21 was 2nd tier but he was 20 so not too bad.

His YouTube highlights look decent, though we all know we probably shouldn't form an opinion based on that. Though his highlights is from the Dutch league so a decent standard. Unlike basing it on the likes of Soro etc.

Either way, we need a goal scorer right now. Love Kyogo and know he is real quality but for whatever reason he isn't himself right now. Oh seems a good player but not sure we can rely on him to secure this title.

The highlight reel suggest he can score with with headers which is something we absolutely lack right now, which is crazy given the amount of crosses we put in these days and often the crosses are not on the deck

At least you know what you're getting with Miovski.

He's scored goals in Scotland and in Europe. SVH has only scored goals regularly in Holland for two seasons.

Is that more of a gamble? I'd think so.

So has Shankland, would you take him over SVH?

I don't think it's quite as simple as saying "you know what you're getting with Miovski" because he isn't playing against low block defences all the time. It's completely different environment and style of play he's got to learn here.

I think when it comes to SVH, it's a bit disingenuous to say "he's only scored goals regularly in Holland for two seasons" like he's been playing in the League of Ireland for his whole career. He's only 23, has scored goals regularly in a far better league than ours, with a team outside of the big 4 over there. That's very good going.

Not to be that guy, either, but he has scored regular goals in Holland for about 3 and a half seasons. 18 months in the Eredivisie with Herenveen and 2 years in the Dutch Second Division for Breda, when he was still in his teens.

SvH has nowhere near the stats of GG in Holland.
In Italy, Lewis Ferguson has 4x more goals!

To be fair, he is up against Zirkzee and Orsolini for starting striker berth at Bologna (Zirkzee now linked with Arsenal for big money).
They might want to keep SvH if Zirkzee goes?

If SvH is all we are in for, let's get it done - because we are truly desperate right now.
Worst case sell to Dutch club after 12-18 months

Ferguson also has far more appearances, to be fair. He's also being linked with some bigger clubs in Italy himself. Roma and Lazio are keen on him, apparently.

Zirkzee won't be going this window. Not when they have a serious chance of getting Europe and are still in the fight for the Champions League positions.

Also, I think it will be a loan with an option to buy. I doubt we will make it an obligation unless it's insisted on by Bologna. He comes here and doesn't perform well enough, we can send him back to Bologna and look to upgrade again in the summer.

Its Guidetti vibes for me. I feel like his reputation is living off one good season in Holland, otherwise his goal record is not that impressive.

Is he match fit? Is he a good character to have around? Why doesnt he play for Bologna?

It has to he a loan with option to buy.

Sydney van Hooijdonk appears to have emerged as a top target for Celtic before the end of the window - with Bologna boss Thiago Motta leaving the door open for an exit.

Reports in Italy have suggested that the Scottish Premiership leaders have made their interest known to the Serie A side earlier this month - but Bologna were said to be holding on to the Dutchman until a replacement was found. Following the arrival of striker Santiago Castro from Velez, the club look to have green lit a move with Corriere dello Sport stating that the player's agent is working to "find a suitable arrangement for everyone" with the 23-year-old desperate to increase his game time.

The rumour mill was sent into overdrive after TNT Sports claimed that Van Hooijdonk's absence from the matchday squad was to allow the striker to take steps towards a move to Celtic. However, following the full-time whistle boss Motta clarified that the frontman was missing due to suffering from the flu.

But Motta refused to rule out a potential exit amid speculation over a switch that would see him follow in the footsteps of dad Pierre at Celtic Park. He said: "We'll see if in the end he stays here or not, the important thing is that he always trains to the maximum.

Not keen at all on him, and haven't been since we were first linked. Highlights make him look like an Ajeti type, a poacher who had a good season or two in the right team under the right environment, but limited beyond that. I think we've shown we don't suit a player like that already this season given how starved of service Kyogo has been.

The comments on here are very underwhelming, therefore I hope it’s a loan with an option to buy.

I made these exact points a few months back in another post but I’ve just realised I missed something glaringly obvious. If every single one of those players joined us immediately after their prolific years they’d have continued it with us.

The ones who didn’t work out, mainly then played for teams in the top leagues so is a risk for those teams but would never be for us

I wasn't belittling his achievements in Holland.

Just pointing out that he's only done it there and nowhere else.

Looking at his transfer to Italy, he's flopped. Whether that's right or wrong, that's what it looks like on paper.
