Funny out of all the things that could make him move circumstances means wage cut.
Yeah no board bashing to see here.:bbpd:

I don't think the board would be stupid enough to try and have the audacity to offer reduced terms. Surely its safer to give a tied and tested player £25k-£35k a week, rather than pay £2m for another player, then pay them £10k, when they may be a flop?

Obviously, if the player wants to leave, then that is a totally different ball game (Excuse the pun).

Well it certainly wasn't homesickness :56: or his family as by all accounts they were extremely happy in Glasgow..
His team mate and pal said he didn't want to go but was made to?
It does say he wanted a crack at the epl but that's fine and he never said now :86:

To be fair, London is a * of a lot closer to Cardiff or Wales in general than Glasgow.

I listed homesickness as a possibility not the sole reason....so well done on grabbing hold of that.
People who are happy in a area never move.....yeah ok.
I have have yet to see any evidence that makes me think the board went to one of our best players and forced him to move by reducing his wages.
If they had not then gone out and spent 2.5 replacing him then you may have some grounds to think that.
10-15 million spend in the last two windows but we are cutting the wages of our better players.
Sorry but it just does not add up.

If you were from Cardiff and homesick you wouldn't move to London which is still about 4 hours away, simple as that!

I know it wasn't the sole reason i read the others but i was ruling it out and putting forward what I 100% believe the real reason was,not enough money here and palace offered him eventually a decent wage..
I just think possibly we have quite a few centre mids with mulgrew and johansen the obvious replacements in that position and Lenny/the board think his wages/demands are too high and we can afford to lose him..
I don't agree but it's done now and we 'have' to move on and always do!

Celtic pushed Joe out the * door.

    Simple as that.

He probably felt he deserved a wee bump in his contract, and he did ... they balked, and he said, "Yeah? Sell me, then."

    * cheap club.

4 is an exaggeration granted its still about 3/3 and a half though and about a 5ish hour train journey from Glasgow..
No great big deal,I'm sorry you can't move to another country and claim homesickness,at least kelvin Wilson moved back to his own city and country..

I don't buy the homesickness either. London is the last place a homesick Welshman/woman would want to be.

He only had one team in wales to go to and if they weren't in for him he obviously would move as close as he could in this case london not saying that he is homesick but if he was then it's not unrealistic

If he was homesick mate he would have gone back to Cardiff and they would have welcomed him back with open arms!

Yes I think he is to but you guys need to get over it. His choice no one else's and if he does well so will Palace. By the way you have NO sell on fee.

I didn't think we had a sell on fee anyway, he only had 6 months left on his contract, the board wanted rid.

We are over it, we are merely discussing it mate. I don't sit and mope that Ledley is gone, whilst I watch the football. :smiley-laughing002:

Reading the BBC Gossip pages, Ledley says in today's Scottish Sun that he was going to sign a new contract before Celtic sold him.
